There is Marriott branding all over the hotel but when I tried to give. my Bonvoy number at check in I was told they’re not longer affiliated. Very confusing. Just checked in but food was mediocre and the one elevator causes waits and back ups so it’s been six flights of stairs to the room. Marriott needs to step up or remove their name entirely.

This hotel was not only filthy and disgusting, their dishonest business practices will have me booking the Novotel in the future. I booked three nights here through the Marriott portal using 21,000 points. I am a platinum member. The hotel is so dirty I thought about switching right away. I am including a photo of the grimy desktop with a stain from a previous guest. The worst part of this entire stay is that, upon checking in I asked if I could check out one day early. The front desk told me it would be no problem and that the 7,000 points for that night would just be returned to my account. I told them that I would let them know for sure the following day. The next morning I confirmed with them that I would indeed be checking out one day early and they again told me no problem. I could check out tomorrow and they would return the points. I checked out the next morning and was again told that the points would just be returned to my account. I have called Marriott corporate multiple times and the hotel now keeps closjng the case and hasn’t returned my points. Marriott is telling me I have to deal directly with the hotel. This has been a huge, frustrating, waste of time and I advise any future travelers to stay in the much better located Novotel or Ibis hotel if you are in Constantine.

Protea hotel is tucked at a quiet corner away from the hustle and bustle of Constantine downtown. the best feature is the perfect view of the Sidi Rached concrete stone bridge offered from some of the rooms. i was given a complimentary upgrade to this room and watched sunset from my room it also has parking onsite, though limited in numbers, and operates on a first-come-first-serve basis. upon arrival, the security guard directed me to park my car. reception staff are also kind, warm, and speak english. i was given a plate of fresh fruits upon check in to the room. lovely welcome. the onsite restaurant serves great chorba frik, which is apparently a constantine specialty. one thing is for sure, i will never get tired of the soups and stews in algeria, most of which i dont even know the names for. all i know is so far, i havent tasted one which i didnt love.

A conveniently located hotel with comfortable rooms and nice view of bridges from the rooms. A comfortable lounge for a drink with great views. The rooms are small but very clean and very comfortable. The restaurant is adequate but it is near some very nice restaurants in this wonderful and interesting city. It is a nice place to stay.

Very comfortable and clean hotel with service minded staff. It’s centrally located snd part of the Marriott hotel chain. Rooms are compact but enjoy a wonderful view of the main bridge of Constantine. Rooms have balconies but there is a steep fine for opening the window snd going out. Excellent cable TV and good WIFI. The only issue was there was no hot water— just lukewarm. Dinner buffets were excellent with vegetarian options. Breakfast buffet was also decent snd included an egg and pancake baking station. Waiters very friendly and helpful. There is a small gym with weights and standard machines but they are renovating the lower ground floors and it can get dusty. The front desk will clean the gym for you if you tell them when you want to use it. The same day laundry service is super efficient.

My room was comfortable but not luxurious and had great views of numerous bridges from the balcony. The breakfast buffet was adequate but nothing special. I'm giving them a four star because of the view, otherwise, a 3.5.

We spent three nights here in a room with a terrace which had a lovely view of the Viaduct Bridge and the entire city. The hotel is excellently located within a 15 minute walk of the old town, with the Bey Palace, museum, kasbah and many bridges. Our room was small, and the bed was a bit too soft for us, but otherwise there was plenty of wardrobe space and the bathroom was large. Breakfast has a wide variety of options, including a station with eggs to order, but it is better to go earlier as some items are depleted or gone if one comes later. The wi-fi worked exceptionally well. The gym is complete with all of the equipment one needs and it also has a view of the bridge. The helpful staff is cordial. There is also a lobby bar.
