We booked and paid for our stay in advance, but when we arrived at the hotel it was locked, abandoned, unstaffed, and in a state of disrepair. Why did they take our booking in the first place? A passer-by told us it had been closed for about two years.

Originally bed was uncomfortable. However the girl at reception was amazing and gave me another room with a fantastic bed. Great customer service! Nice big TV with lots of apps / channels loaded. Close to the braywick leisure centre where alot of bodybuilding shows are held. So would recommend to athletes competing Lee

Good points- the location and a comfortable bed. Bad points- For a hotel that stats it has undergone 2 years of refurbishment, I fail to see where the changes were made. The main issue was the room we were put in (202) right outside our bathroom window was a large vent that was very loud all night, the bathroom floor actually shook with the constant buzz. The bedroom window had tape covering a crack, wallpaper was peeling off the wall, damp in the bathroom, and overall just shabby. Breakfast was OK, lots of choice but poor quality.

I only visited the restaurant in the bar for lunch, but feel I must comment as this is extremely nice. A small selection (more in the evenings) but it was very well presented and the waitress was helpful and welcoming. Seating area clean and tidy with a nice view across the river. Will go again.

We stayed at Thames Riviera Hotel for 3 nights and really liked the views and surrounding area. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was good. Room was good, we had small issue at the beginning which was resolved very quickly. It's a 3 star hotel so don't expect luxury and 10s of food choices for breakfast. But we really enjoyed our stay.

stayed at this hotel on sat 20/4/24. booked an executive room which did not disappoint. extremely clean and comfortable. staff were welcoming and friendly. Will on the bar was a lovely chap and ever so helpful, and the gentleman who oversaw the breakfast buffet was lovely too. we booked this to break up drive home after finishing a cruise in southampton, would definitely stay there again. dinner was acceptable, nothing brilliant but enough for us after doing the cruise. the breakfast was exceptional although could have been a bit hotter, the choice offered was fabulous. free parking was an added bonus. given its location on the road we did not hear a thing and slept extremely well. would recommend this hotel.
