Arrived late at the hotel so checked in and went out for food straight away but called at reception to tell them that the room was very hot and the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working. Obviously they couldn’t do anything that night but would send someone from maintenance the next day. Next morning we discovered the hair dryer was temperamental and the ceiling fan in the bathroom was hanging off, both of which were reported to reception. Breakfast was very good with a huge range of foods available and the table service was exceptional and friendly. We went out for the whole day returning late evening after a meal out. The fan had been fixed but the hair dryer was still not working correctly and the air con seemed a little better. At around 2.00 am the air conditioning began making an horrendous noise which was impossible to sleep through. We duly rang down to reception and the person on duty immediately offered us another room, which we took. We spent the rest of the morning after breakfast moving from one room to the new room. This room was much better. Pleased to say that these issues were dealt with to our satisfaction. The standard rooms (which were all that were available when we booked) we experienced were in need of a little TLC. The cleaning of the rooms was hit and miss, there was dust and debris under the bathroom unit and we found a mouldy pear in a bag at the back of one of the units, next to the bed, when we came to checking that we had not forgotten anything just before leaving. The pool was very nice and clean but unfortunately if you were not up at the crack of dawn to put your towel out then you would not have a lounger even though people left their loungers for hours on end. The reception staff were very friendly, efficient and polite, all able to speak English. Location was fine, not too close to the bustle of the main st., but within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants.
