We have just returned from a 14 night stay at Dunas Club. We found the hotel in a tired, delapidated and very run down state. Phil and Kirsty (Locationx3) say it's all about kerb appeal, this place has none, and is not at all like the pictures in the brochure/online. We were treated to a grumpy and diffident welcome, if you could call it that, by the sour faced reception staff. When we got to our room, it looked like it had been hurriedly wiped over with damp tissue, and the black bed runner was stained underneath (simply turned over to hide this). The shower glass screen had wipe mark residue all over it... and the floors... what can I say... while unpacking, me and my partner's white socks went black! Due to this, you definitely need to wear sliders or something otherwise all the dirt on the floor will end up in your bed.... eeeewwwww! La Luna (attached to and possibly affiliated directly to Dunas Club) was lovely, with plenty of pleasantries at breakfast during our stay. This may be due to fact that 'Bed and Breakfast' is an option when booking at the hotel. However, after lunch and later, there seemed to be a quite sinister unwelcoming barrier to the service... especially with two of the staff. The hospitality touch towards us just wasn't there. These 'ladies' would snatch menus out of your hand, snatch plates away when you'd just finished. Rude, plain rude. We also noted, the restaurant was open to all until beyond 11pm most evenings. However, on the two evenings when Spain were playing in the Euros, it was firmly shut to Tourists, even to those staying in the hotel above. This is absolutely disgraceful. We loved Corralejo, the beach, some of the restaurants, but we certainly got a vibe particularly at this hotel and restaurant, that a lot of the staff made it quite clear by their actions and manner that they are definitely in the 'Tourists Go Home' camp! We certainly will not be returning to this hotel !
