Sol Sun Beach

We could not score this low enough and this does probably not represent the whole complex but we booked what was advertised as a spacious house on a well known booking platform that turned out to be an awful studio that was absolutely filthy. Within 30 mins of getting the keys from the agent we had already booked alternative accommodation. The electrics were faulty, the toilet was not secured to the floor, the bath was damaged and had gone rusty and the bathroom floor had clearly had water damage, there was an old washing machine in the bathroom with a lid that had rusted away almost and smelt awful. Unfortunately we had to stay for 1 night because we couldn't get anywhere else to stay. We both got bit in the night from something in the bed and when we *****ped off the mattress cover the next morning the mattress was absolutely disgusting covered in urine and faeces stains and smelt badly. We left immediately the next morning and registered a complaint with the booking company and sent them all the photographs. The owner responded saying we had caused lots of damage and threw red wine on the couch and had thrown lots of stuff away?? We could not believe it. We paid £1400 for ten days and are still in dispute with the booking company, we had to pay another £1700 to get another apartment elsewhere but we had no choice. We have never experienced anything like this before in over 30years of traveling together and hopefully never again.

We have just arrived back from the sol sun apartments after a 7 night stay during half term. We wasn’t expecting much as we usually stay with iberostar all inclusive but decided to do a self catering holiday. The location sold if for us as we have 2 children who don’t like to walk far. We had booked a 1 bedroom apartment with street view as this was all that was available, however we was given sea and pool view D6-6. The room was big and spacious with a separate bedroom and door. Cleaners came in daily but my only quibble is that they didn’t clean the floors daily. No cockroaches in room or around the apartments. The pool area was clean and the water was definitely refreshing! The pool bar was very reasonable for food and drinks. We did some excursions whilst visiting; dirt buggies, loro parque and siam park which we highly recommend all of these with children. We would return to sol sun apartments.

Good things: Very comfortable beds and pillows, excellent location, nice pool with so many loungers you never have to go early, large selection of room categories, across the street from mini market, easy walking distance to countless restaurants and shops, good options for the included breakfast, excellent air conditoning, a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Its basic accommodation but very clean. I would recommend it and would stay again. Bad things: The worst internet I've ever seen at a hotel. You may as well be dealing with dial upconnecton from the 90s. The apartment was clean except for the balcony floor. Its filtly and your feet will be very black if you walk on it so expect to wear sandles the entire time or you'll be scrubbing your feet constantly. The kitchen is poorly equipped and nearly impossble to reach any of the utensils, plates, cups etc. There are very few glasses ( no wine glasses) so while they had the basics like forks and plates, don't expect to be able to actually cook anything. Shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap in the shower is dreadful. You feel slimy no matter how much you try to rinse, and the shampoo doesn't even lather. Defintely remember to bring your own. The front desk staff is friendly but generally aren't interested in helping guests very much. I inquired about extending our stay by a few days and was told they didn't know how to do that. Really? Its a hotel..... how can you not be able to assist someone with extending their stay? We ended up not bothering and left as originally planned.

We booked last minute and Sol Sun Beach was one of our only options with Jet2. We got a fairly good deal for half board and booked an Xtra sea view apartment. Apartment was basic but clean. 1 double bed in bedroom and a sofa bed (where u just put a sheet over the cushion and 1 person sleeps there) plus a pull out trundle bed. My husband and 13 yr old slept on sofa bed and said it was comfy enough. Air con only in main living area and only a ceiling fan in bedroom which was noisy so was not ideal. I hate to think how hot the bedroom would be in July!! Oh and the bedroom faced out the back and the noise from the big hotel out the back at night was really loud, however it did finish by 11pm. Breakfast was ok although the hot food was lukewarm warm and sometimes looked stale. We only went for dinner once and it wasn't great. Pool area was lovely, clean and plenty sun beds available. Great views down to the beach. Would I visit again? Probably not but for the money it was fine .

Oh what a disappointment, having arrived at the Sun Sol Beach today (16:4:24), at just after 12:30 local time, we were informed by the reception staff that our room wouldn’t be available till after 15:00 hrs at the earliest and to call back at reception after then. Now to add insult to injury people who not only arrived at the same time as us, but others who arrived later, were shown straight to their rooms!!!!! Through out wait, we’re told to either wander around the resort, or just and to just in wait in receptions. Well we wouldn’t have minded as much, if we’d been offered a complimentary drink or something, as we’d been on the go since just after 2 this morning, for our second stay at the hotel. Oh well, with customer service like this, we won’t be coming back for a third visit

The room is trash and I mean it,it literally has cockroaches in it (but we took them out and said nothing.) The shower hose was broken so we were offered, and had no choice! to go to the pool bathroom to have a shower! Never mind the live wires poking out the wall, the nails sticking out of the children sofa bed, the mouldy smell of the place, the neighbour's dog barking like mad or the broken remote control. When I walked into reception the first night to ask for bedding for our children I was told they were coming straight over, after three more times calling reception a guy made me come to the elevator to give me two single sheets and nothing else! I asked for full set of bedding for two children and he walked away swearing in Spanish... At 11pm. I got a call from reception saying that only adults were allowed full sets of bedding but there were two blankets in the wardrobe for the kids!!! Restaurant and bar staff were very nice and friendly and the swimming pool was great.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment as a family of 4. Apartment was a good size with plenty of storage. we had a massive balcony which overlooked the Fanabe Beach in Costa Adeje. Large fridge freezer in kitchen area although can't remember seeing a microwave. A utility kit was provided which had everything needed for washing up! Aircon was very effective in main room-ceiling fans are in the bedrooms which arn't as good. Location of the apartments is great, just back from promenade by Fanabe Beach. there are lots of bars, shops etc surrounding the hotel but didn't have any complaints about noise apart from workmen on the promenade one morning! Had breakfast included in deal which was a vast buffet, hot and cold food which was good. Pool area is a little tired but plenty of sunbeds dotted around the place and by the pool itself with good views of the sea. Pool was a decent size. Drinks and food at the pool bar were pretty cheap. Would definitely stay here again

Our fourth visit to the Sol Sun Beach. We particularly like the spacious pool and sun deck area and central location, near to beach and restaurants. The staff very helpful in all areas. We book bed and breakfasts. Small dining room but good choices for breakfast. The studios are a good size with large balconies. One suggestion would be to make a micro wave available for guests (in addition to the oven) so that meals can be prepared in the room.

Location excellent.Our apartment C41 was spacious and although a bit dated was very clean. Beds comfortable bed linen and towels changed frequently .Staff very friendly and helpful.Breakfast super .Evening meals enough choice to suit most tastes but would have loved a coffee to finish our meal. One negative the furniture in the living area needed refreshing Would we go again .Definitely .
