Our second visit, and by and large my comments from last year are still valid. We arrived around 8:10pm at the Anthelia and had to wait, as there was no one from Salome available, the reception offered us drinks we opted for water, and they started the check in process, eventually a butler from Salome arrived and escorted us to the room. After a very very quick orientation of the room the butler left. Fortunately as we’d stayed last year we ventured to the buffet for something quick, it had been a long and tiring day, however, we obviously chose an unfortunate area as the waitress was most unfriendly, maybe because it was coming to the end of service, we only asked for 2 beers and some water, we got one beer between us, I did ask for the second beer, she tutted, walked away and never came back. We paid extra this year for a room in a priority location (a few hundred pounds), we were on a higher floor which was nice, but the view was probably worse than last year as instead of the palm tree trunk we now viewed all the foliage. I would never advocate cutting back the foliage, but I wouldn’t consider it a priority location either and definitely not worth the extra paid as the room was essentially the same as last year just with a slightly bigger balcony, I think over £6700 for 7 nights, even though all inclusive, it is pricey. The room was comfortable and clean, the amenities are ok, although I didn’t like the dispensers in the bathroom, they were inclined to fail, and the creamer supplied while ok for coffee is unpalatable in tea. The location is quiet, the pool was a bit cooler than last year but was ok, the ladies at Lagarto and around the pool are lovely and the service is excellent. We ate at the buffet for breakfast mostly as there was more choice, however, the breakfast at the Mirador was good and the staff very welcoming. We also ate lunch at the buffet as we didn’t want a big meal, the food was ok but not very hot and as less people eat there lunchtime there isn’t a constant turnover of food, hence the quality at lunchtime is not as good as the evening, although apart from that first evening, the staff were very friendly and we had good service. We ate at both Sea Soul and Portofino twice, we weren’t keen on the menu at Poseidon, speaking of menus and the drive for sustainability we could not access menus on smartphone or on the hotel website or the monitors around, there was a glitch, a butler printed them off so we could decide where and when we wanted to dine. Sea Soul like last year was our favourite, however, I do think the inside dining area used in inclement weather needs refurbishment to make it more a la carte and less cafe. The first time we ate at Portofino, the lady in charge was lovely, the service was good, it was calm and welcoming we were offered an aperitif, the courses arrived in a timely manner and we were offered coffee to finish. The second time there was a gentleman in charge, he did not acknowledge us once, he made
