We went to the Sand house for a short break… just something away from routine… it was great..our room. … 332 was just lovely. Very spacious and above all extremely quiet… just what we needed. We were in the restaurant both nights. Oh my goodness we weren’t disappointed. Service exceptional and food amazing.Seafood fresh and great… Bar staff are so fantastic too. Nothing is a problem… Only thing I would say is , the inside of the dining room windows really do need a good clean. Thank you for a great weekend. Hopefully we will return very soon.
I’ve never experienced such friendly, welcoming and hospitable hotel staff in a long time! We recently stayed at the hotel for two nights as part of Cycling Ulster’s leisure weekend. The staff could not do enough for us. Our requests were met with a smile and nothing was any bother. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was first class. Our booking included two evening meals and these were also first class. The menu had plenty of choice. The value for money was exceptional. Thank you for making our weekend so relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel is so convenient to the town. We had a ball and will be back again soon.
GREAT FAMILY BREAK We just lovey The Abbey Hotel, the staff are all so friendly, the hotel in right bang in the middle of the diamond (town). Everything is in walking distance. We went down as a family for an 80th birthday party and enjoyed every moment of it. I had requested a disabled room and this was hourned. The bathroom was great with a lovely walk in shower. We all had dinner in the restaurant and it was faultless. Well done and can't wait to come back again.
The Gateway Lodge offers first class accommodation right on the doorstep of Donegal Town. The room is spacious with a huge and very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee are provided in your room. The breakfast is top quality with varied and excellent choices. The only downside is that there could be larger towels in the ensuite. We will definitely be back here in the future
I can't say enough great things about Lough Eske Castle, it's staff, restaurant, and property. Don't miss out on a night or two in a castle with the best Irish hospitality you'll find anywhere. Definitely wish we'd had more time!
On the inside the house has a old warm style with many pictures and paintings giving it a home like feeling. The food is incredible. There is a new chef now, I didnt try the food before but now it is like a 5 star restaurant. On top of that the staff are friendly and service is quite fast. They can also take in any number of people, even as a very large group they could take us because its quite a quiet place. We all would love to come back but it is a bit expensive but worth it considering how good the food is.
By looking at the pictures attached, you can see the major reason for this review. This is a handicap room, and look at the MOLD MOLD MOLD in the shower. This hotel sits at a busy intersection across from a fuel station, so busy busy, and our room was on that side busy busy busy. From check-in to departure to chasing down my luggage that was put onto another bus was the highlight of this hotel. Neither porters nor drivers will ever take the blame and but chasing down a tour bus was no fun at all and stressful. Porters picked it up, so I would say porters. The dinner we received par for the tour we were on. Don't ask for an additional roll, God help you. With the moldy shower to the noisy street and my baggage gone astray what else could I say besides the pool. Oh yes the pool and sauna and no hot tub was under construction was the best part. Did not know one had to have a shower cap to swim in any public pool good to know now. Besides the awesome sauna to the pool the above was enough. Let's make this 2 stars now as I forgot the pool and sauna.
