We had a wonderful 3 days 2 nights stay in Mengjing Dali Hotel. The location is great, very convenient to Dali Ancient city and plenty of restaurants nearby as well. All the staffs are extremely warm, friendly and they are very service oriented. The staffs truly put their best effort in making sure that we had amazing experience throughout our stay.
The rooms are extremely clean, spacious and very nicely decorated and modern.
Breakfast has a variety of western and local flavours.
Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay in Mengjing Dali Hotel.
Thanks to all the staff who made our stay and experience so wonderful.

First of all, I would like to highlight the kindness of the staff, really exquisite. They also organized a car tour of Erhai Lake, keeping in touch with a group chat. The room was nice, tastefully decorated and with everything you need. The Chinese breakfast was excellent. Just below there are many restaurants, the location of the hotel was great and the view was magnificent. I would definitely stay here again.

XXNYLMy friend and I enjoyed our stay in the 'Yunxi 270° Seaview Terrace Double Bed Room' at Dali.Muxi Inn (大理木兮·半山Villa海景民宿). We found this hotel via reviews on XiaoHongShu and the room looked exactly like the stock photos. The hotel and room were beautiful, the hotel staff were very helpful, and we would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Dali and are looking for a hotel with an amazing view of Dali Erhai lake.
Number of nights of stay: 3 nights
Hotel location: The hotel is situated in a quiet but brightly lit residential/hotel estate at the end of winding uphill road (around the Dreamland/Santorini 圣托里尼大理理想邦 area), and is located about 20 minutes away from Dali Railway Station. The vehicle drop-off point is directly outside the hotel. The restaurants around the hotel close at about 8.30pm-9pm
Room: The 'Yunxi 270° Seaview Terrace Double Bed Room' is the only room located on the fifth floor. There is a lift in the hotel so it was convenient to transport our luggage. The room was perfect - it was really spacious, beautiful and clean. There was one king-sized bed, which was slightly too soft for my liking, but the pillows (one soft and one firmer memory foam pillow for each guest) were comfortable. There was a large living area with a sofa, three coffee tables and two additional chairs; balcony with two comfortable rocking chairs, a coffee table and a stunning view of the Erhai lake. The sky roof, when opened, was pretty in the daytime but it was difficult to see the stars at night due to the light pollution from the nearby buildings. The open concept wardrobe was large enough for us to hang our clothes
Bathroom: Two sinks, separate shower and toilet area, one jacuzzi. Toiletries (e.g. shampoo, conditioner and body soap), disposable toothbrush/toothpaste, rubber bathroom slippers and disposable bedroom slippers were provided. The shower had both a handheld shower head and rain shower, with good water pressure and temperature
Hotel amenities: Complimentary breakfast (from 8.30am-10.30am; delicious spread of noodles with soup, porridge, fried egg, bread and vegetable platter) and afternoon tea (Lotus Biscoff biscuits, yoghurt, fruits and plums); cafe at the reception area is opened during office hours and only sells beverages; beautiful reception area with a friendly and gentle 5-year-old house cat; communal washing machine (free of charge, inclusive of laundry detergent)
Transfer: Free airport pick-up for this room type. No free pick-up from Dali railway station

Was greeted upon arriving by the homestay dog (his name is Huanxi). His son (the one in the cage) was there as well. Huanxi is a very calm dog but if you go up to pet him, he will accept pats.
LOCATION: Other than a brutal 10 minute walk up a little hill, it's quite close to the West Gate side of Dali Ancient Town.
ROOM: Very clean and everything looked brand new. My room was on the 2nd floor so the balcony is right outside my window. You can see mountains from the room (the view might not be the clearest from the room so I recommend going on the 2nd floor balcony or the 4th floor where the washing machine is). The 4th floor provides a 360 view of Dali's mountains and you can see Erhai from afar.
FOOD: They provided a welcoming bowl of fresh watermelons (very sweet!) And Yunnan's specialty rose pastries. They also have Pu'er tea (Yunnan's specialty) in the room or you can request an afternoon tea. I only had breakfast once, but they provide either rice with side dishes or noodles every morning from 8 AM to 10 AM. You can message them on wechat in advance and they can even send the breakfast up to your room.
The homestay employees were all super friendly and there is a painted map on the first floor of main tourist locations. If you speak Chinese, they will give you a thorough introduction of these tourist locations and how to get there. (If you speak English, they'll try their best with a translator app.)

GGRACEOur stay at Dali Xingmai Mountain and Sea View Homestay was pleasant overall and a good value for its price, especially if you're seeking a peaceful retreat in the quieter part of Dali. Traveling as a family, we were looking for a place that offered serene sea views, and this homestay mostly delivered on that. While there is some ongoing construction in front of the building that slightly affects the view, the surrounding scenery is still beautiful and calming. The cleanliness of the homestay was satisfactory, and it offers a good range of amenities. The kitchen, in particular, is well-equipped, making it a great option for families or groups of friends planning to cook and enjoy meals together. However, if you're simply traveling for leisure and don't plan to spend much time at the homestay, you may find the kitchen unnecessary. One thing to note is that there is no central air conditioning or heating system. The homestay provides a bed warmer (which works well) and a small air-conditioning unit in the living room, but the bedrooms can get quite chilly at night, especially during winter. It's something to consider if you're visiting during colder months. In terms of location, this homestay is ideal if you're looking to unwind in a quiet and restful environment. However, for those planning a busy schedule with visits to Dali's main attractions, the distance might be a drawback. The homestay is located in a residential area, and getting to most tourist spots can take 45-60 minutes by car, whether you're heading to the west or east side of Erhai Lake. There are also no nearby F&B stores except one small restaurant in the building next door so make sure you eat in the city areas before coming back to the inn. That said, if you're staying for a longer duration and prefer a relaxed, free-and-easy itinerary, this could be a suitable choice given its amenities like the kitchen and laundry facilities. It's also worth mentioning that this homestay feels more like an Airbnb than a traditional inn. It's situated in a residential building, with the entrance being a carpark and access through an elevator to a residential unit. There’s no lobby, service counter, or common areas. Instead, check-in and assistance are handled through WeChat. Despite some of the drawbacks, the service here truly stood out. The staff member assisting us was incredibly kind, prompt, and accommodating. Whenever we had questions or faced minor issues, she responded quickly and made every effort to resolve them, which helped make our trip smoother. Her attentiveness and helpfulness were a highlight of our stay and left a positive impression. While this homestay may not have been our favorite, the excellent service and peaceful setting make it a decent choice for travelers prioritizing quiet and self-sufficiency over convenience and luxury.

ホテルのロケーションは素晴らしく、大理古城からすぐなので、カフェ、一流レストラン、薬局、市場、バー、その他何百もの店や露店まで、すべて徒歩2〜10分圏内です。渋滞に巻き込まれたり、車を呼んだりする必要はありません。
ベッドと枕はとても快適で、シャワーヘッドはとても強力なので、とても贅沢なシャワーを浴びることができます。
しかし、このホテルの一番の魅力は、温かく思いやりのあるスタッフです。
清掃スタッフの1人であるナンシーは、いつもとても親切で気配りがあり、おしゃべりも楽しく、訪れるべき場所の素晴らしいアドバイスも親切に教えてくれました。私たちはとても楽しむことができました。
アンナもとても話しやすい人で、優しくて感じのよい態度と思いやりのある言葉で、いつも会うのが楽しみでした。

母が回復したのは、主にヴィヴィアンの素早い、信じられないほど親切な行動のおかげです。彼女は本当に期待以上のことをしてくれました。私たちは、母を救うために彼女とAnyu Hotelにとても感謝しています。
ヴィヴィアンは滞在中毎日私たちに挨拶し、おしゃべりをしてくれたので、話すのも本当に楽しかったです。彼女の温かい笑顔、明るい性格、カリスマ性がありながらも謙虚な性格のおかげで、いつもすべてのやり取りが本当に楽しいものになりました。彼女から受けたおもてなしは決して忘れられません。こんなに優しい心と、非常に高いEQと献身的な人に出会えたことはとても幸運でした。他のホテルに泊まっていたら、このレベルのおもてなしを受けることはできなかったでしょう。ですから、忘れられない旅にしてくれたヴィヴィアンとAnyuのスタッフ全員に深く感謝しています。

PPNMANice location just outside Dali old city wall. You can didi to the nearby coach station to proceed by small coaches to Lijiang. Service by reception girls was excellent. Son had diarrhoea and the girl ordered 美团to deliver medicine to our hotel at 1am (she was already resting in her hostel). Suggestion: for breakfast, rather than offer plain white bread and hard boiled egg, you can offer egg sandwich (mash the egg mixed with salt pepper mayo) & spread it on white bread.

ゲゲストThe best hotel experience of this trip is mainly due to the hotel's service. The butler, Liu, is very attentive and meticulous, which is the best service I've ever experienced. Super awesome!!! The hotel scenery is beautiful, located on the edge of Shuanglang Scenic Area, and every angle is very photogenic. The room facilities are complete and considerate, and there are very complete supplies for children, clean and tidy. There is a fruit plate when we arrive. In the evening, they also send good night milk, and the children really like the kittens in the shop. Butler Liu introduced the surrounding attractions, delicious food, and matters needing attention in detail, really considering for customers, and the experience is super good. Next time I come to Dali, I will stay here again👍

JJonathanHad a wonderful 3 nights here. The well-designed property offers a calm respite from the buzz of the streets outside. We had a room on the second level that let good sunlight in during the days, allowing us to sit by the huge window for tea. Though the toilet and shower was a little small, the stone bathtub was huge. Room was clean & had all basic amenities one would expect. We loved the Coco-mat pillows. The breakfast was a highlight every morning, offering varied & healthy options. Coffee was good too. They served complimentary night desserts/snacks. They didn’t have many staff but service was good and prompt, always ready to offer tips & advice whenever needed. This included texting them via WeChat anytime you needed something. When the caretaker lady found out that we were heading to the other JiXiaShan properties after Dali, she took the initiative to inform them about our pending arrival & asked that we be accorded good hospitality. She also helped to link up with the Dida driver when we needed to arrange the transport between cities. We didn’t miss Dali Ancient City that much, but we sure miss this wonderful property, and we won’t hesitate to stay here again if we were to pass by this way.

TT.W.LBooked the family room at courtyard level as I had elderly and wanted an accommodation which is easy to access. I also did not want to be hoisting luggages up and down and over cobbled streets in the old town and somewhere along the city wall so it is easy to start our tour of the sights around Dali in the morning.
Room: Simple efficient clean layout with open concept. Rooms are relatively new. Sink area is located outside the bathroom which is good. The beds are hard in my opinion but elder felt the bed was comfortable. Bottled water was provided everyday (left outside our door). Room Temperature control was ok and the hot water for the shower heated up quick and could maintain at a stable level which is a plus unlike some other hotels in Yunnan.
There is flight of 3-4 steps to room which is manageable for our elder as the room is slightly raised above the courtyard. We had an early check-in as the room was ready. The staff helped us move the luggages to our room. You could also book the entire courtyard for larger groups. The owner is building additional new rooms in the annex but the construction happens during the day and it is not noisy as most guests would be out.
Location:
It is near the South Gate (there is a local market nearby check the maps or ask the owner) and our local driver could stop right outside our accommodation.
We didn’t get breakfast from the bnb as there were food shops offering noodles, congee and fried dumplings around that open early at 7am. You can also make your way to the local market near the gate. You could also go up the South Gate for free to catch the sunrise or sunset view.
Touring around Dali
If you can comms in Chinese, you could message the owner ahead to assist to arrange for a car transfer from Dali Fengyi Airport or the Dali Railway station to the BnB. It cost RMB50 for us from the Railway station to the BnB. You could also arrange with him for a day driver to take you around the sight seeing places around Dali /Erhai Lake, Mt Cang or a driver to send you to Lijiang. We felt was more efficient and relaxing with an elder. It took ~3h drive instead of travelling south to the Dali train station to ride the train to Lijiang and finding a cab from Lijiang railway to the old Lijiang ancient city.
You could also easily catch a Didi or a cab which could be cheaper. A cab/car ride to the 3 Chong Sen Temple pagodas was about 10rmb for 3-4pax which is comparable to waiting for Bus 4 which cost 3rmb per pax.
