So very relaxing. Our room was excellent, amenities were good, the staff were outstanding, and restaurant was very good

The hotel Vil Uyan is a very special eco residence which also delivers on excellent cuisine and understated luxury. The lodges are nestled in the forest and by the lake offering unparalleled peace and seclusion. The service is warm and genuine. I had the best gin martini ever and a world class margarita - all very good value. The wildlife is abundant but fortunately not too intrusive.

The hotel is beautiful, surrounded by nature. We had a bungalow with pool, which we enjoyed a lot. We were fascinated looking at the animals that freely live in the property (monkeys, peafowls, birds and a crocodile!). All employees are very kind and attentive, and do their best to fullfill the high expectations. Thank you to the whole team!

This was our first time staying at an eco resort. We didn’t quite know what to expect, but turned out we were thoroughly impressed and surprised. Ruwan, our butler, made sure we had everything catered for: our tour to Lion Rock, our breakfast in late morning, our night walk around hotel property searching for loris, dinners/snacks… he was the star of our stay! Our room was spacious and we appreciated the little dip pool to cool off the heat. We just had to adjust one expectation given this is an eco resort, which is the insect situation. There are many ants (which didn’t bother us), some lizards (which did) and we found a large dead cockroach at the foot of our bed in the morning (which gave us a bit of fright). A small tale in an otherwise wonderful experience overall!

Feel nature and relaxation just enter the hotel. great place for most kind of nature activities, you can watch and hear the animals, can enjoy the nice music from birds as well can enjoy peacocks in the hotel. Food was amazing with personalize services beyond expectations. Rooms are specious with privet pools and balconies. Great place to enjoy the nature sitting in the balcony. Who loves the nature this is the best.

Very nice hotel featuring central complex with pool restaurant bar. Accommodation is around the lake in the form of large traditional wooden chalets. All very nicely done with lots of nice facilities and touches. Very comfortable. Staff were very good. Stay included a butler who was great. Friendly helpful and so professional although not sure what he was doing for us personally beyond the other staff. We did not have accommodation with plunge pool so used the main pool which was great. We were the only ones using it through out the stay. Whilst a great place, two things resulted in the 4 out of 5 score. 1) the central complex was lacking appeal. Had no nice inviting bar to sit in. It was missing something; 2) cost of wine and cocktails which was on the high side (compared to other places we stayed) after all tax and service added.

We were booked into this hotel by a tour company. We stayed 2 nights in Forest Dwelling Room 133 and several days later returned for another two nights in Forest Dwelling Room 135. The rooms were identical except the second room was missing the flashlight, the mosquito net around the bed, and the safe never worked despite alerting our "butler" to that fact. The pool had leaves in it when we arrived and more when we left two days later. Our first night in the second stay in Room 135 upon returning from dinner we found two piles of excrement on the floor of the downstairs bathroom space. We called housekeeping who came to clean the floor. He said bats came in because we had turned off the lights, however, when you go to dinner you take the keys with you which causes the lights to go off. We never had this unfortunate experience in Room 133. It felt like the staff had simply forgotten about Room 135 and us. The hotel restaurant has many choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the restaurant staff were always helpful and pleasant. The hotel's site and landscaping is lovely.
