ホテル・シャッツァルプ - ダボス(Schatzalp Hotel)

Schatzalp is a magical and unique place that you will never forget! It's like entering another world where history comes to life. The staff are marvelous and go out of their way to be accommodating. Schatzalp is not just a business to them, and that makes the atmosphere particularly pleasant and welcoming. The location is amazing, the history glamorous, and the experience not one you will soon forget.

Stayed for 5 days for a holiday in the snow. The hotel is beautifully located above Davos, only to be reached by a private cable car. When you arrive you feel you enter a film scene, where you can write the script. The whole atmosphere is one you will never forget, it is if you go back in time when only the happy few went on holiday. The hotel is done in beautiful architecture and is very elegant. Wood, marble and stone. Jugendstil details. Food is great, the staff friendly and helpful. You can sled down every night, on a private lighted sled course, and there is a great slope & ski lift is included in the hotel stay on the back of the hotel. Some things are older but that makes the hotel even better. I rather see something done with craft and nice materials then plastic fantastic. I have seen reviews of people who made a picture of some faded paint or a stain in the carpet.... that the hotel was older then they expected and some other silly bla bla. It is like not admiring a pretty lady but only concentrating on a pimple. f you like character and elegance and a hotel that one of a kind you should stay here. If you want a kind of mediocre middle class so called luxury, there are plenty of other hotel chains that cater to that. I will be back Hotel Schatzalp, I had a fantastic time!

So why do I only give 3 stars? The hotel is old, fair enough, on would expect some old furniture and so on. Considering the prices they charge, however, semi-faded cheap-looking furniture in the room is not accecptable. Neither is the stat of the railing of the balcony, where you could actually injure yourself, since the wood is in need of repair. The staff were really friendly and helpful, no problem there. However, wrong information in the email when booking, the funicular is actually free when staying in the hotel, which we did not know and paid for it the first time we used it. Not a lot of money, but considering the prices, it is annoying. The setting, of course is fantastic, great views of the valley, nice sheltered balconies to sit and read and "take the air". Really evokes a Zaubergerg feeling.

This is a true gem. Unique architecture and location and excellent staff. The hotel rooms are all unique, have no TV (which I find a plus!!) , historical furniture, gorgeous balconies (I do recommend getting an upgrade to face the valley). Felt very much at home here and warmly recommend this place.

Mir hats halt gefallen...Ist nostalgie pur. Die Mini-Dusche war allerdings etwas herausfordernd. Aber diese Aussicht, nachts auf dem Liegebett auf dem Balkon mit Wolldecke. Unbezahlbar. Ich erinnere mich gerne daran...

Wir sind Fans der Schatzalp und ihrer Mitarbeiter in den letzten Jahren geworden. Von der Bahn bis zum Strela Pass haben wir selten so viele freundliche Gesichter sehen dürfen! Das Essen ist phantastisch und die Zimmer kleinen Zimmer mit Blick über Davos reichen für uns vollkommen aus.

Im Prinzip entzieht sich dieses Hotel einer Bewertung: klar ist die Einrichtung in den Zimmern teilweise abgestoßen und mehr restauriert als renoviert, das Bad nach heutigen Verhältnissen eher unpraktisch, keine Dusche sondern eher eine „Brause“ vorhanden, aber das wird dem Charme dieses Hotels trotzdem nicht gerecht: die Hotelflure, Aufzüge, Restaurants, Zimmer, etc. wirken wie aus der Zeit gefallen und lassen einen mit dem Gefühlt zurück, Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts zu urlauben. Die Balkons mit Blick auf das Tal sind ein wunderschöner Aussichtspunkt und sehr großzügig geschnitten. Hier lässt es sich gut zum Entspannen in den Schweizer Bergen aushalten (Liegen sind vorhanden). Ein eher großzügiger Schnitt lässt sich auch bei den Badezimmern beobachten (möglicherweise weil das Haus tatsächlich früher ein Sanatorium war). Frühstück und Abendessen sind OK bis gut, aber nichts Herausragendes. Kann man gut damit leben. Spa (es gibt sogar eine Sauna!) habe ich nicht besucht. Wer ein modernes Hotel in Davos mit allen Annehmlichkeiten sucht, ist hier sicher fehl am Platze. Wir sich auf so einen „alten Kasten“ einlässt, wird hier seine helle Freude haben. Ich werde auf jeden Fall mal wiederkommen.

Die Lage ist super, von aussen herrlich, wer Jugendstil und historische Hotels liebt hat hier eine tolle Zeit. Dafür gibt es in Sachen Zimmer folgendes in Kauf zu nehmen: alt, abgesetzte Möbel , sehr ringhörig, man hört jedes Wort aus den Nebenzimmern, muffiger Spannteppich, kaum Schrankraum, kein TV, weiches durchgelegenes Bett, kleines Badezimmer mit Duschvorhang. Es gilt als 3 Sterne Hotel, die Zimmer verdienen eher 2. Das aber zu 5 Sterne Preisen. Fazit: man muss schon ein sehr grosser Freund historischer Hotels sein um es hier auszuhalten und so tief in die Tasche zu greifen.

Achtung Bettwanzen und keiner schaut hin oder nimmt es ernst!!! Man wird unfreundlich abgespiesen, es wird irgendeine Ausrede gesucht und keine Kulanz. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht und würde das Hotel und vor allem das überteuerte Kaiserzimmer mit Bettwanzen nicht empfehlen.
