Had an amazing stay at this mountain homestay. Personally, I think homestay is not the right name for it. It’s more of a luxury hotel experience on top of a mountain. Very lovely and friendly owner who got out of his way to find me some throat lozenges because I was having sore throat due to the dry air. Indeed, the 14km hike from Ninong to Yubeng is very tiring, but it is made up for as soon as we reached the hotel. It’s a perfect hotel for couples (or travelers) who wishes for adventures but also wants to have the luxury comfort of a good room, bed and food at the end of a long hike. Now we are spoilt as we will be using this experience as a benchmark for our next hiking + luxury stay adventures!
ゲゲストHotel is right on one of the main roads in the town with only about 5mins taxi ride to the North gate of the historic town and about 10 minutes walking to the bus terminal. The room is clean and in a decent size. The staff is helpful and friendly when being approached. Breakfast is served with both local dietaries and limited kind of bread pastries cereals for western visitors. We are served with free fruit plate in the room during the stay as well. Overall it was a good stay considering the price and location.
ゲゲストLovely hotel with great view, although the weather was not good during the two days we stayed, we still had a great time despite not seeing the full meri mountains. They had promotional activities during the 5/1 holiday where we hand painted tongka, and made ******* weaving stone accessories. The staff was kind and polite. The design of the architecture is stunning, I would recommend all couples to stay at this hotel. The only downside is that nighttime dinner options are very limited, recommend guests to walk out to nearby premises to have dinner instead. The breakfast at this hotel was nice.
LLinda PuiJust to make it clear that the location of this hotel is not at the Meili Viewing Platform. You need to walk around 10 minutes to reach the platform to watch Meili at sunrise. The mountain that is in the background of the hotel is Baima mountain.
Having said that, we loved our stay at this hotel. The cabin was nicely decorated and equipped with all amenities. We loved the bathroom! The heater was working well in the cold weather.
The uncle was lovely. It was a bit hard for us to conmunicate what we wanted as we don't speak Chinese but through Wechat translation he was able to arrange a car (shared trip) to Mingyong Glacier and a private transfer back to Shangri La for us. The auntie at the breakfast was also lovely and welcoming, trying to chat with us all the time.
One thing to note is that aroud the area there are a lot of construction sites (there is one opposite the hotel), so it can be dusty and noisy at times. Please check with the hotel about the construction if it is still ongoing during the time you want to visit.
All in all, I highly recommend this place if you want a lovely cabin experience (with sky window!) away from the busy area. However, you won't see Meili from the hotel's windows.
