This 'resort' is quite a distance from the main area of moalboal. If you are here for diving or snorkeling, you'll probably love this place for the location and access to sea, but aside from those facilities, there's not much here. Pool was cloudy and dogs were swimming in it, rooms are basic and WiFi over our last 2 days was unreliable, with it not working at all in building 1. No tv, old towels. Breakfast not included, but food offering was OK, as were the drinks at bar. If you have no transport and aren't diving, there's nothing to do here. The owner was very amenable, but was out of the country during WiFi issues. No safe in the room, though probably not needed here, but it's nice to have the option of reassurance for storing passports etc. Bathroom door would not shut, door was swollen and needed planing back.

Great setting right at the waterside and excellent for snorkelling. Spent a lovely morning out on their boat trip doing more snorkelling. Only a short walk along the shore at low tide to get to a lovely beach. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the food too.

We stayed for a week. Super helpful hosts and the whole team. A wonderful kitchen. They can arrange all tours. Easy to get to nearby cities. You can get all snorkeling equipments for free there. Next to resort is white sand beach. I highly recommend it.

Firstly BOOK BOOK BOOK. This place has it all. We stayed at the blue orchid for 8 days as a final finish to a month of travelling the philippines. Upon arrival we were welcomed by night staff John who was awsome and shown us to our room. The following morning, the front of house staff introduced themselves and explained all the excellent things to do including snorkling which is attached to the resort. The snorkling is unreal, the coral and marine life you can see along with the dive/snorkling equipment the resort provide! The rooms are well equipped with lovely balconys and air con! This is a dive resort and not a boutique hotel although it had elements of both, but as for the area and moalbol itself this is as good as you will find and it is always worth checking direct with the resort about availablity and what rooms are available for something special or to organise trips. The food alone its well priced and tasty and above all things hygenic, freshly made to order and good variety! The staff all round are lovely, and cannot do enough to make sure you are catered for and will actively go out of their way to ensure you have the best stay. Now onto the owners what can i say, micheal and naresa both engage and are always around ready to assist in anyway, micheal was great to have a chat with, great knowledge and such a nice fella you feel at ease with any issues/enquiries you may have and full of stories that you can spend hours listening too. Finally, id say overall the best place we stayed in the philippines and great quality for the money and finally a mention for the star-link wifi (which micheal loves) it is great to get signal considering it’s the Philippines. What can I say, The Blue Orchid is really just a slice of paradise on earth. I really appreciated the vibe of the resort, where your surrounded by trees, birds chirping and then it all overlooks the ocean with another island in the distance. Then you have the people, Michael, Narissa, Caroline, Nathan and the rest of the team, they really added to my whole experience there, great bunch of humans! I have to also mention that in addition to the diving, organising other activities such as diving with the whale sharks and sardines and organising canyoning was all very seamless and the resort just makes it all easy. Oh and the food, I really enjoyed my meals, top shelf imho. My time at The Blue Orchid was good for the soul!

We enjoyed our weeklong stay at the Blue Orchid including diving with Jeff, the hardest working Dive Master in the Moalboal area (maybe the Philippines)! The grounds are fabulous with vegetation creating an almost jungle like atmosphere and living up to its name with various orchids growing throughout the resort. If you like a quiet resort away from everything, then this place is for you, and we enjoyed a relaxing stay after the hectic island of Malapascua. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which is quite large with three separate areas, the bedroom, the TV room, and the upper patio. The bedroom is the only air-conditioned room as the TV room and patio are open air. Our goal was no TV for our month-long vacation in the Philippines, so we really did not use this room. The upper patio has fantastic views of the Tanon Straight separating Cebu from *****s and we enjoyed morning coffee and sunsets from this area. We loved the food and ate here for all meals except one. Michael, the owner, and staff were very friendly and helpful which added to the relaxed atmosphere of this resort. Michael even helped us out with my wife’s illness and demonstrated what a dedicated and compassionate manager he is. Thanks again from Kristi and Brian!!

Great hospitality from everyone we met, including the owner Michael. Perfect spot to start your diving experience or improve it with certified PADI instructors. Nathan and Anna were great patient teachers for us. Ps: Mango juice was amazing.

Fantastic Dive Resort - tucked away with gorgeous views. We went here because we had just finished our PADI certification, and wanted to do a lot of diving (and had heard bad things about the whale sharks in Moalboal). We could not have been happier that we ended up here; we ended up doing 8 dives with Jeff, who is the resident dive master. He was super helpful and friendly and so knowledgeable - he pointed out so many things we would have missed otherwise if we were on our own. There were so many great dive sites, and we would just go based on his recommendation. The shore dives were also fantastic, and the corals are beautiful. We saw so much, including loads of turtles and a sardine run. The hotel and the food was great too, and they had a well stocked bar. We ate most meals at the hotel, and there was plenty of variety. There is also a really cool town nearby, called Panagsama, which is really cool (15-20 minute TukTuk trip away, which the hotel would sort out). All the staff at the hotel were fantastic, and really made the stay, Narissa especially so. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which had a roof top deck and chairs where you could sit out with uninterrupted views of the entire coast. The hotel are also really responsive on email, and Michael (hotel owner) answered all of our questions - directly worth reaching out to them and booking directly. Michael was also a great guy to have around, highly entertaining! All in all, fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend. If you want to dive, this is the place. One thing, which is not necessarily issue, there is limited phone signal, and the Wi-Fi is pretty slow, so if you are trying to work a bit or stay connected just be aware of it (its still manageable, but not for zoom calls or anything like that). Perfect if you want to completely disconnect.
