The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this resort for couples and families, as it offers plenty of activities for children as well. Although the resort was fully booked during our stay, we never felt crowded because the property is so spacious. The standout features include the exceptional service, the beautiful beach, and the impressive 350-meter-long pier extending into the ocean. At the end of the pier, you'll find the renowned Blue restaurant, the perfect spot for a superlative romantic dinner featuring an exquisite shellfish menu.

Today, 20/02/2025, it's also been in Terrible sound the ol day The sender has a complaint about the noise. We arrived at the hotel Dongwe club resort from 12-02-2025 from 14 days They did not inform us that there is a large construction going on in the neighborhood of the hotel . it is impossible to stay in a hotel , don't go. no one should be here because of the terrible construction noise from the neighboring area

I do not recommend to choose this hotel at the moment since there are construction works nearby and you wont be able to enjoy your holidays! The sound is just ridiculous. Overall the houtel if fine, but the contruction make your holidays terrible!! We loved the food, the people. All in all hotel is pretty old, but nice and clean. But the construction works make your head blow! Be careful if you dont want to get headache because of terrible sound which lasts every day from beggining till the end of the day!

I chose this place because of the effusively positive reviews. However, our experience was not anything like what these reviews say. First, the room was dark and smelled of mold. We were first given a downstairs room that smelled of mold. We then asked to be moved upstairs, but that room smelled the same. Next, the food. We thought, based on it being Italian owned, that the food would be very special. It was just average — various pastas and not very good pizza. Breakfast was very basic. Even the coffee was not so great— not like the wonderful cappuccinos you get in the morning in Italy. On the positive side, the grounds were lovely. The pool was huge and beautiful. They have activities like snorkel trips and exercise classes. And the staff is lovely. But the beach is overrun with people who want to sell you things or braid your hair. They shout and chase after you in a fierce and desperate way. We stayed in another hotel on the same beach later that week, and they had a sign posted saying that this beach vendor activity is illegal in Tanzania and not to purchase from these vendors. And they had staff out there to make sure of it. So there the beach could be enjoyed. A huge difference!

The best place to stay in Zanzibar. That was my 4th time visiting Dongwe Club Resort in Zanzibar. It’s a pleasure every single time and every single time it’s better. The Italian chef makes a difference when we talk about delicious food! The stuff is so helpful from the desk Doris till the waitress and the animation group! Every night is a show or karaoke or a beach party ! During the day lots of activities aqua gym, yoga , volleyball name it !! The list has no end. The resort itself is huge you can lost yourself in that beautiful place and chill or join the vibe next to the pool! Let’s not forget about the longest pier in Zanzibar - The Pontile ! Uff that place it’s magical! So if you think go to solo or with you family you chose the perfect place ! The resort offers lots of excursions and daily snorkeling. For sure will rerun again! The hotel has been appointed as a "BEST 4 STAR HOTEL IN AFRICAS 2024" and when you stay, you can understand why! I had amazing time here, best location, beautiful gardens, AMAZING pier, food is also excellent. I would suggest to try the excursions proposed from the Italian team (Mara and Daniele) and please do not trust beach boys, a couple booked something with them and they were scammed!!! I will surely come back to this Paradise!
