If you want a apartment type accommodation near Dubai mall then this is a great place to stay in. We had a 2 bedroom apartment in the Lavender block. The reception for the residences is round the corner to the hotel entrance. Each block has a 24 hour security gaurd at the entrance to each block. Our apartment was on the 4th floor and there is one bathroom a fully fitted kitchen and a lounge. The kitchen has a washer dryer and microwave. From the small balcony there are spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa but this comes with a significant drawback and that is the noise from the highway that runs adjacent to the building with the elevated section of the road almost at window level so there is constant road noise. The complex itself has a large pool and tennis courts. There are also separate womens' gym, sauna and jacuzzi in the health club. Access to the central recreation area is through a door on the ground floor fo the residential block we were staying in. At the rear of the complex about a 2 minute walk from the apartment is a 24 hour supermarket which has everything you might need (groceries, drink, meat, toiletries etc). They will also deliver directly your your apartment. Now the best bit is that a 12 minute walk will take you straight into the mall. There is a shuttle bus that runs but we never used it. The easiest access is to through the Fashion Avenue entrance on Happiness St.Its not well marked out on google maps but its the easiest and simplest way to get there. So a good place to stay with family near the Dubai Mall but starting to look a little tired.

It’s our first time , we are a family with 2 kids (6,5 years old ) , we enjoyed our stay to the maximum also my girls enjoyed, the kids club here make every mummy happy it’s so huge with wonderful staff , where the kids can stay one week without feel boring, thanks a lot to emmy ( kids club staff ) you really make our stay better and non forgotten,, thanks a lot , about the apartment it’s really wonderful with small full equipment kitchen, lovely bath tub and 2 toilets and shower room , the living room is enough for 2 kids with it’s amazing sofa bed , the resort atmosphere is so cozy , very nice breakfast, charming beach area and swimming pools .

My first encounter with Ascott was in KL,Malaysia. It was out of this world so my family and me were more than happy to check it out in Dubai. The first thing I must mention is that Ascott is one of the very few hotels that does not give you headaches over payments. No,you dont stay for free:)!. What I mean is they make things super easy for you. I was under a card renewal procedure during the time of reservation and whereas numerous other hotels were giving me panic attacks, the Ascott gave me a no issue approach. Iam hugely grateful to them for the professionalism they showed. Okay,now down to facts and figures. Firstly the location is excellent. Situatated in downtown Dubai in the financial district, you could not ask for anything better. The metro station is just 3-4 minutes by foot and finding taxis is no problem at all as well. They are always available and the staff is always willing to help if you want a particular kind of car. It is surrounded by eateries, the likes of KFC,McDonald's, Costa's, Tim Hortons etc. All this really comes in handy if you're travelling with kids. They also have one of my most favourite mini markets nearby,ZOOM. As well as a whole lot of pharmacies and other things. At the lobby level you will find Cafe Bateel where you can enjoy free breakfast if you've paid for that package and Picolo Mondo next door as well. Check in was very speedy. We did not have to wait for tons of time. By the time we were done with the welcome dates and Arabic gahwa we were headed to our suite. Our suite was a two bedroom one and it faced Shaykh Zayed road and oh what a view! It was extremely spacious and well lighted with all the amenities that we could ask for. Anybody travelling with kids will find the Ascott to be a huge plus. The beds and pillows were super comfy! One thing I must mention here is that house keeping needs to he pulled up a bit. I felt it was not upto the mark. The swimming pool and gym are on level 5,both of which are state of the art. I really loved my stay at the Ascott,infact the whole family did. Thanks to them we now know how to get around Dubai Mall! It is so close to them we went there every single day. Thank you Ascott, we look forward to visiting again:).

Less than 200 metres from The Grand Souk set amidst narrow alleys is this little gem of a guest house. Next door is the local mosque, The Heritage House and a wonderful traditional restaurant. Ahmedia offers a feeling of tranquility and traditional hospitality. As soon as you walk into the courtyard reception a feeling of calm washes over you. This was matched by the gentle, warm welcome from Agnes. Our room was huge and furnished in keeping with local ways. A seating area with a “traditional” sofa, a lovely low coffee table with seats, a dressing table and a fine fridge! The bathroom was clean and the shower ideal The bed was massive, comfortable, bedding and towels spotless. It’s location was ideal to explore both sides of the creek. Only minutes from the souks and creek taxis. It is tucked away, find it before dark or be good at reading maps.

It was a nice and charming cosy place in old Dubai. The stuff was very friend and helpful with information. The metro station was within walking distance. An oasis in a historic building near the Greek and Souk. The rooms are smaller than they look on the photos but it didn’t matter because everything else was just great.
