This hotel was everything we'd hoped it would be. Exactly what we needed! Warm and friendly staff & management in a charming & welcoming old inn. Rooms really comfortable with stunning views. Lots of available beverages in the room, including a complimentary mini local gin & fresh milk in the fridge. Food was A1 at dinner & breakfast. The location is just beautiful with stunning walks literally on the doorstep. We will definitely be back. Cannot recommend it enough.

I had some family visiting and we rang Tarr farm to see if they could accommodate 10 of us for cream teas, what a fantastic friendly team! My mum has difficulties getting about and nothing was to much trouble to help get my mum in, they gave us a room at the front which over looked the river and bridge.. the staff were all so polite, friendly and helpful.. I live more local and have visited before, but I just wanted to thank you all for making my families visit to lovely.. thank you..x

Magic experience even if solo. Out of season the location is spectacular . The inn is fantastic and the staff amazing . On my own I did not feel solo I was Uber happy and included. The wine lists ( and other drinks) wide ranging and the food - naughty Yum! The attention to detail wonderful - fresh milk in my room and two sorts of good coffee Sadly I crashed both nights before 9pm I was so relaxed. I blame the comfy bed Can’t recommend enough!

Just had an overnight stay at Tarr Farm Inn. Well equipped and comfortable room with ensuite with bath and shower. High quality toiletries for guest use. The dining room was comfortable and cosy witha delightful ambience. Dinner was most enjoyable as was breakfast. All the staff we met were helpful and friendly . The Inn is situated in a most picturesque setting, although we did take a little time to locate it. Might help if a sign was put at The Tarr Steps car park indicating that the inn was situated at at the bottom of the hill. Would thoroughly recommend this establishment

Went here as a birthday treat from my wife for a couple of nights. We were joined by two great friends. We arrived on the first day they had opened after their annual holiday. Lovely welcome, great room, fantastic food and awesome ambiance. Can’t fault this place. Wonderful, friendly and hard working team to make the weekend such a great experience.

The thirteen of us had a great Saturday/Sunday with dinner and breakfast. The food was fresh, well-presented and delicious. Our private dining room made it all the more special. ALL of the staff were friendly, professional and charming. Breakfast was just as good with a great variety of options. The rooms were clean, cosy and well-equipped and the pub setting is beautiful. They are closed now for a very short (maintenance) period and had a limited supply of beers as they “wound down “ - the only minor negative which will obviously be rectified when they re-open. Overall, a fantastic experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Thank you for a fantastic Sunday lunch hosted in your private room for our party of guests. Great food, and great staff we will be back again in the future. Tarr Steps is a great place to walk from and dog friendly.

We had a fantastic time. Surprise Birthday visit having tried many times to stay at Tarr Farm. Superb really genuine friendly staff. Great food . Ideal Inn / hotel to stay in the moors. Woody our Whippet was spoilt as were we. Lovely bar inside and out. Even set up the TV for the Rugby on a very busy Sunday. Thank you Hillary and team. Hopefully be back soon. Tom and Sam

After a special birthday celebration walk with friends up and around the river valley, 8 miles in exhausting heat, we stopped at the inn to see if we could get a meal before heading home. Sadly we were informed that they were fully booked. So we went back to the car, only to find the car keys were no longer in the rucksack! YIKES! We assumed (and sincerely hoped) we'd left them during our refreshment stop at the Royal Oak in Withypool...and not in the river during one of many cooling paddles! With no mobile signal at Tarr, we relayed our issue to the lady behind the bar of the Inn who immediately rang the Royal Oak for us and even asked whether, if the keys were there, they could accommodate us for food as it would be quite late by the time we'd get there on foot - they too were fully booked. But, after quite a while of waiting for the Oak to hunt, and find (yey!) the keys, the lady at the Inn squeezed us in for food and then offered a member of staff to take one of us back to the Oak to pick up the keys as it was getting late and we were now losing the light. She had even said that if the key's weren't found, she'd take us all back home to Taunton. As anyone who has lost their car/house keys knows, it is a hugely stressful and frustrating situation to be in. But the staff at the Inn really went the extra mile to show their support and help as much as they could. It looked like our lovely day could have been ruined and remembered as a bit of a disaster. Instead, it is perhaps even more memorable because of what happened, but in a nice way - where total strangers go out their way to help those who need it. We are so very grateful. Thank you from us all.
