Udai Bilas Palace

Wow this is a palace! When we arrived and were shown to our huge room we were quite surprised it was all in 1940s style with original fittings and had so much space with lovely comfortable seats and a huge bathroom with hot water. We had a fantastic view over the temple in the lake. The cups in the room were bone china! Would have been a perfect place for afternoon tea. It covers a large amount of ground and has some beautiful features with the courtyard, lovely breakfast corner and fantastic rooms which we got to take a look in. They also have a bar with lots of classical cars and a hanger! The swimming pool is like swimming in the lake and has comfortable loungers with mattresses and towels. The breakfast was small due to us being only 1 of 2 groups of guests but it was enjoyable with nice tea, coffee and juice. Eggs cooked to order and done perfectly. Parata and toast to order with beans, fruit and cereal available too. Wish we had more than one night, definitely recommend.

The most relaxed I have felt in a while. Need to return for longer. Location of the palace is just jaw dropping. Felt warm and inviting and our room was beautiful and perfectly located overlooking the lake and the temple that seems to float like a pearl in the waters. Recommend it who***eartedly. The first of my forays into Rajasthan.

We diverted from our planned route in order to stay at the Udai Bilas Palace hotel on the strong recommendation of the travel agent. In terms of location it was simply perfect. A temple shimmered in the lake in front of the palace and clearly money has been invested to provide everything you could possibly want, including a beautiful swimming pool. We were thrilled to arrive until we were shown to our rooms. My room was up a very steep set of uneven stone steps which was a challenge for me in the light of severe mobility issues. The room was a bit of a squeeze but was just about acceptable, even though it was in an annex, hard to access and not what we had been promised. My friend however was given a room that would have been better suited to being a broom cupboard. The bed was a single 'orphan' iron bedstead, straight from Jane Eyre, and the bedside table was in the middle of the floor as the room was too tiny to accommodate it. Shower curtains served as interior decor for the prison like windows and the balcony was a health and safety hazard. What was most disappointing was the response of the ***ager when we pointed out that this was not what we had been sold. His tone was hectoring. He bullied , he shouted and he blustered. The truth was that he had sold out every room to accommodate a party of 40 people and we were collateral damage. The day was ruined for us and when eventually a room was miraculously found for my friend at 8 30 at night, it was too late. We had been treated very shabbily and it just isn't what you expect in 5 star establishments in India. The owner has created a hangar bar with a real aeroplane and a themed dining area. He has created an amazing bar at the end of the huge barn full of vintage cars. There is a beautiful organic vegetable garden and the staff were keen to be helpful and kind. However, all of this is pointless if the ***ager in charge is ready to bully single female travellers and willing to sacrifice their well being in the interests of a better booking.

Not a great stay. Indeed not a value for money. Inflexible. Suites are dirty. ACs not working. Owners don’t care. Food is a killer. Haven’t had such a bad food in resorts anywhere. Except staff being courteous nothing adds up.

We went to Uday bilas in the month of may . We went there for two days but we .liked it sooo much that we stayed two more days. The hospitality is superb food is very good ,place is quiet lake view is fantastic. We were treated like king and queen, the Maharaval suit was very good except it was not properly cool it provided a royal feeling. best thing was bar all their royal cars were thereon display and it is very well done by using cars and ony cars we really enjoyed the place most. We visited Juna mahal that was also superb and must visit for its art work

It was the death of a dream. Our daughters had gone here in 2017 and were raving about the place so we decided to give it a go. It was a shockingly terrible experience. We booked the Maharawal suite and it was disgusting. The carpet hasn’t been washed in years, the furniture is dilapidated and they have a tap on the wash basin which literally has a trickle of water. When we complained, they said this is how it is. The staff is polite but the food is terrible. There is cost cutting everywhere and as they don’t seem to want to switch on the AC, they make you sit for breakfast out in the open where you are attacked by gnats which which are everywhere. The menu is nothing like it used to be pre-covid and the food is just okay when it was supposed to be magnificent before five years. There is no room Service so you have to eat in the dining area which is terrible. The place is terriblly maintained and the owners seem to be living in a delusional belief that everything is great. The staff is extremely courteous though and the bar experience is fantastic. But overall I would never come here again.

Gud place to visit... I loved it specially.. Have lotz of fun with friends .. I also loved their ambience and food... Waiting for next vacation to visit again... Cost are also reasonable.. I can't express my happielness through words

Visited this place for a special occasion. The property is beautifully located. Staff is brilliant & friendly The garage bar is brilliantly decorated atmosphere music superb food also good. The dinning area both rooms are unique The rooms need renovation but are very comfortable needs upkeep
