The Buccaneer Beach & Golf Resort

The aged, damaged furniture. Grass not cut. TV that was 15 years old with static like watching tv from 1970. If we had paid $100 per night for this room it would be expected, but this hotel was outrageously expensive. Inexcusable. They should be embarrassed to rate this property 5 stars. The only redeemable quality is the employees. Even the buffet breakfast was 3 rate

We loved our stay at the Buccaneer. The property is always amazing. The staff is friendly and everyone greeted us with a good morning, good afternoon or good evening.

Staff were all exceptional, pleasant and hospitable. All areas, including the room, were kept very clean. Although the food choices are limited, the food that was available was very good quality. The beach is amazing and is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking or just relaxing in the sun. I would definitely recommend the resort and hope to be returning in the near future.

We really wanted to love the Buccaneer Resort but there were a lot of shortcomings. It is in the perfect location surrounded by two beautiful beaches and a short ride from Christiansted and amazing dining options, but as a resort it falls short in many places. The room was outdated and the AC and several things in the room didn’t work or were broken. When we reported this to the concierge they did not offer another room for the remainder of the stay and we were thanked for bringing it to their attention but told that it would be fixed after we left. We went during the slow season , which understandably you expect things to be a bit more relaxed. We had dinner reservations at the Mermaid and were ignored and our food came out an hour after we ordered it cold. The bar on the beach redeemed the resort with amazing bartenders who gave us recommendations of places to eat, and had the best sushi we had on the island. For the price of the resort the rooms were outdated and not well cleaned, we found a roach in our bathroom. The spa staff however was amazing and gave both my husband and I a great massage and provided us with tips on how to reduce the stress on our necks and backs. We will definitely come back to visit the two beaches but likely will not stay here again.

What caused me the rate this average was 2 of the nights the next door guest had loud electronic noises most of the night and it was not made to stop.

The climb to the lobby from the rooms are steep. There should be more shuttle to go up

Came at the quiet time, few people, little entertainment. Resort is big with multiple different areas you could book, with distance to walk, although they do pick you up and will drive you to your destinations. Initially was disappointed, but was able to get upgraded close to beach and that made a world of difference. We enjoyed the beautiful beach and the quiet, and are pleased with our stay. Management did accommodate our needs, so we were very grateful and do recommend this place.

the tub/shower in the bathroom was high and difficult for an elderly person to step over.

We had an amazing time at the Buccaneer. We were in need of a nice quiet vacation. The vibe at the Buccaneer was perfect in June. The complimentary breakfast buffet was delicious, and the staff is very attentive and kind.
