エクルフェチャン ホテル(Ecclefechan Hotel)

We stayed here on Hogmanay in the family room. The owners could not have been more welcoming, nothing was too much of an effort for them. The room was spacious, immaculate with comfy beds. Reasonably priced and well stocked bar. Breakfast was outstanding, even with our fussy children, they were very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

Myself, my partner and his little girl turned up at ecclefechan hotel on Friday the 14th of July at 18.30 to see if they had any rooms available as our journey from Blackpool back home to Angus ended up being a disaster. We were greeted by a lovely lady and man who made us feel very welcome. The lady who I assume is the owner managed to get us a family room organised for the night and made sure we had everything we needed. We could not be any more thankful to them both for helping us in a time that was really stressful. We had the best nights sleep and we’re ready to face the 3 hour journey back home. Thank you both so very much for helping us we really appreciate it!

A one night stop as we headed north. Plenty of parking at rear, don’t be put off by the delaminated look at the rear! Our room was lovely, and we had a wonderful welcome from the owner. Newly renovated room with a really comfy bed and high quality linen. En-suite very clean and spacious. After a long day in the car we were pleased to get supper at the hotel, very friendly bar man and owner. Great breakfast. Thank you.

Not like it used to be, not sure what happened. Parts of the place smelt of damp, the breakfast was not as nice as it was. I wanted to leave it there but the post wouldn't publish without 200 characters

Started badly could not use the car park, due to large pot holes. The back of the hotel is very dilapidated areas appear to be falling down. Inside smells of cooking fat and damp. The room was a surprise clean, but bed sheets felt damp. No heating or hot water had to report it, when we could find someone. Then to finish off no draught beer and very little choice on the menu. So disappointed.

Stayed here just for one night during a round to Scotland. Great welcome, couldn't be better. There were some parts of the hotel that needed renovating, but we had a lovely room with a big bed. Had evening meal in the pub with a lovely open fire. Huge portions and really tasty food. Thanks to the chef.

Called for a one night stop on our way north. The twin room we ordered was a double! The bar had no beer because it was busy yesterday, items on the menu were sold out and the person in charge had gone away, we will not return

Lovely landlord, big room, nicely if inexpensively furnished, clean,great dog friendly bar serving decent pub food. Lovely breakfast. Very close to motorway and with a lovely riverside walk for the dog just 2 miles away.

So welcoming and nothing is too much effort for the family running the hotel. We had a lovely pub meal for dinner, super comfy beds to sleep in, a sparkling clean bathroom and a delicious cooked breakfast to eat in the morning. Yes it looks dated outside but once inside it is wonderfully homely and relaxing. The staff really care about their customers.
