ブティック ホテル サント ゲオルク(Boutique Hotel St. Georg)

Stayed for 4 nights. Very clean. Serves a very nice breakfast with more than enough choices and local dairy produce. 7 min. walk to the train station. Central location in between Chur and Zurich but less expensive than Wadenswil.

Nice place to stay for a night or two while in the area. Very friendly staff and a nice breakfast buffet that's local and always fresh.

This hotel is uphill from the station, but manageable even with a suitcase. It is a few steps from a fabulous bakery and cafe and 20 metres to the Monastery. There are also a few restaurants close by. Perfect location. Rooms are small but good enough. The "air conditioning" is heating not cooling! There is a luggage storage room if you get here earlier than check in time. Staff are very obliging.

Hotel is very basic, it would be great if it can supply a kettle so we can make tea or coffee of our own. Buying coffee is expensive and it's all machine made not authentic coffee. Parking in Switzerland is a big problem, basically every where you park will have to pay and hotel does not supply parking.

The hotel is close to the monastery and there are a number of restaurants nearby (including that of the hotel, which we didn't try). The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The room we large enough, clean and had sufficient storage space. The big problem was that the room has no A/C and not even a fan. As the night was warm, we had to sleep with the windows open. Despite being a non-smoking hotel, the guests in the room below ours decided to share their smoke by blowing it out the window - which went straight into our room. Also in the morning hotel staff sat smoking on the outside stairs to ensure that we could "enjoy" cigarette smoke from both directions! At about 5 a.m. the delivery vans started arriving and there was shouting and doors banging, so our room was not only smoky, but noisy! A couple of other less significant issues: The breakfast cost CHF 18 per person - not free, as stated here (but to be fair - the hotel's own website does give the price of the breakfast). The hotel doesn't have it's own car parking. Guests can use the nearby park house at the reasonable price of CHF 12 per night, but this is a 10 minute walk away and only allows entering and leaving once. There is no short term parking near the hotel for unloading luggage. In short: 2 stars in summer - 4 stars in winter (average 3 stars)

Close to what we needed. Lovely, friendly staff

Grest price great breakfast. However a few things missing from the room 1. Luggage rack to place your suitcase on to unload clothes, etc. Without it, we had to put our suitcase on the floor which is inconvenient. 2. Shower bar. The shower was nice but slippery. There is no 'grab bar' to hold on to when entering or exiting the tub/shower. This is not safe! 3. Windows should be triple paned on the street side to block out sound. We could hear EVERYTHING from the street and church. Very noisy. 4. We needed to supply our own toiletries. The only bath soaps were hand soap and shower gel (i.e. no shampoo, body lotion, etc). 5. There are no small night lights so when you get up at night, you have to turn on the main lights. 6. It would be nice to have bottled water in the room. 7. Lastly, please check the toilet seal/wax ring for leaks. We definitely smelled drain fumes in the bathroom.

A newly renovated, smartly designed hotel. Lots of power outlets in the room, perfectly cleaned room daily, daily reminders to take advantage of the sauna (we didn't use it because we focused on our Faith activities), very cheerful and helpful hotel reception. The Closter and a whole bunch of restaurants and shops are all within walking distance. Good flat rate deal on parking. We paid CHF12 only instead of the CHF96 charge for 4 days and 3 nights. Hotel guests get 10% discount if they eat in St Georg Restaurant next door. This restaurant was a bonus! We had 2 of our 3 dinners there. Wonderful Italian dishes! The owner and his waiter were very warm and accommodating. Excellent value for money! We will stay here again next time we visit Einsiedeln!
