Hosteria Vertical Lodge

We desperately tried to get to Patagonia. We were stuck in Buenos Aires. Flights were canceled two days in a row. We were very disappointed that we could not get someone on the phone and that they would not grant us any kind of refund for our hotel room.

Very comfortable and clean. It's more modern than I expected. Bed was perfect...firm just the way I like it. I had a direct view of Fitz Roy from my window! No TV or hairdryer in the room. Shower was one of the best I've ever had in all my travels in terms of cleanliness, pressure and water temperature! There is a safety box inside the room. Reception was terrific. Francisco and Manuella were sweet. Breakfast was not very appealing for me but that didn't make much of an impact for me. You can leave luggage at the hotel after checkout if needed free of charge. Within walking distance to bus terminal. Restaurants are fantastic in El Chalten. La Tapera, LA Esquina Cafe and La Cerveceria. Check out is PROMPTLY at 10am!!

Great place to stay! Super kind people and very clean room. The rooms are simple but has anything needed. Good breakfast too. Wifi is a bit slow but ok. Location is ok. The place is nice I recommend it!!

The lodge staff was very kind and responsive. The lodge itself is OK. The rooms are big, but noisy due to the flooring an a main hall that goes down to the main breakfast/lobby room and the door to the hall is left open a lot by guests and when the wind is blowing, which is a lot. The pillows are only a piece of foam rubber. The breakfast is ok, pre-packaged pastries and bread, canned fruit, maybe with some cut up fresh apple. The meats and cheeses were a nice option. My main complaint would be that the lodge does not offer any night meals, but they cater large groups that take up the lobby lounge space, are very loud, and guests are forced to their rooms waiting for the large groups to leave. The lodge is part of the "Patagonia Group", so I assume that the other hotels in the group offer a simple dinner to their patrons at the Vertical Lodge, but actual lodge guests don't get that option.

Spacious room with lots of light - very comfortable. Hot water always available and pleasant staff. Not far from the town - one can walk everywhere including to the various hiking trails. Breakfast is continental only but breads and pastries were fresh.
