ホテル ホッホフィルツァー(Hotel Hochfilzer)

We normally stay in chalets so we’re unsure what to expect for a ski hotel. Wow, what a hotel! Everything about Hotel Hochfilzer is special. The staff are simply perfect and the food sublime. Good value too. We will be back. Truly a very special family run hotel

Having already stayed at the Hochfilzer in 2020 , this time we stayed in the Flora Hotel just a 2 min walk from main hotel. Newly refurbished to a very high standard, super clean, great beds, massive walk in shower and underfloor heating. Two balconies with picture windows of the mountains. Friendly staff focused on our care, reception were very informative in the booking process. I have dietary issues which were catered for, even arranging for yeast free bread to be put on our table each breakfast and evening mealtime. Although all the staff we encountered were helpful and professional, a special thank you to Patrizia at breakfast (she was especially helpful with advising of a local GP), Goran in the restaurant/bar and Isuru and Andrea on reception. We booked half board. Breakfast was great and the evening meal is high restaurant quality and all home cooked. Ski Bus right at end of the drive and you can walk across the road to access some lifts for Going area. Large Ski room with heated boot holders. There is a small wellness area which incudes a sauna which was very welcome at the end of a days skiing. We were unfortunately ill for a couple days in our stay. While they do not offer room service it was not wise for us to attend the restaurant. Without hesitation they created a room service box of food for us and the even made sure they presented this as a nice experience. Given the main hotel restaurant for evening meals is 300m up the road this was definitely above and beyond. We could not have been happier with our second stay at this Hotel and personally preferred the Flora being a smaller and quieter experience.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Every member of staff goes above and beyond their duty to ensure every need is met for guests. the rooms are spotless and cleaned every day, The restaurant has a wide variety of salads every day and a varied menu, with choice of main course, plus a vegetarian course, and the bar is a welcoming place after the day's activities. On some evenings there is live music. My husband and I have been many times to this Hotel and would not consider going anywhere else. Especially as on our recent visit my husband became ill. The staff at the Hotel could not do enough to help us and make our lives as easy as possible at what was a very worrying time.

A beautiful family run hotel, rooms are beautiful, staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic! This is our second visit and we can’t wait to go back! The access to the ski slopes is easy with the bus stop right next to the hotel and the there are endless slope with many restaurants available while skiing too.

Location was in the centre of town on a quiet street so perfect. The staff where all 1st rate. The food was amazing and the facilities where outstanding in the evening there was a fantastic ambiance about the hotel everything was perfect and the entertainment of music from local artists was spot on

I stayed here for four days with my daughter and my parents and loved everything. The hotel is traditional Austrian looking from the outside but the inside is updated while maintaining the Austrian style. We had a family room with two bedrooms and a kitchen so it was very spacious and we had a balcony with a view of the Wilde Kaiser. The kitchen hasn’t really been updated but it was perfect for our needs with a fridge and cooktop. The bathroom was updated and massive with separate toilet room. Everything was very clean in the room and in public areas. We booked breakfast and dinner and the selections were great. Staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The town is quaint with plenty of shopping and restaurants if you want to eat elsewhere. And there are lifts within walking distance plus a free bus. Parking right at the hotel can be hard to come by but there is a free lot only a few minutes walk away.

As a returnee, I always find this hotel so welcoming. There are no faults with this hotel. The meals are freshly prepared and a choice each evening. Breakfasts have plenty, if not too much, choice. The hotel is very clean, and now has a fabulous gym, with plenty of top equipment to choose from. The hotel is situated in the centre of Ellmau. As always, one week just isn’t enough. Our first overseas visit since 2019 and our first stay at the Hochfizer.In our previous twenty visits have always stayed at Pension Claudia which is under the same ownership,but due to ongoing building work could not stay there.When we booked we were a little disapointed by this ,but we have to say all our misgivings were misplaced.We had an absolutely superb stay.It was so nice to see so many old faces working on the Reception Desk and in the Bar Area and of course to meet the lady who makes it all happen and sets such high standards not only for herself but also her staff.Step forward,Ingrid.The food was of a very high standard and this was very much matched by the dining room staff so ably led by Andrea.A difficult decision now awaits next year,where do we stay?A truly wonderful stay and after a difficult three and a half years it was so nice to return to a place which is so special to us!

The rooms were lovely and well maintained. The bathrooms were very light and airy. Fabulous views from the large balcony. The hotel has wonderful facilities from large indoor swimming pool, jacuzzis, steam rooms and saunas. The staff were knowledgeable and always happy to assist and advise. The catering was fantastic, lots of choice, variety and cater for all needs. The bar staff cheerful and engaging. On top of the meals, afternoon cake and coffee was served. The hotel is located ideal in the centre of Ellmau, close to bus stops and other bars. A truly relaxing holiday which I highly recommend. Thank you family Hochfilzer
