Riad Dar Maya

Amazing stay thank you. Very clean, a warm welcome, knowledgeable staff, lovely breakfast & the whole place smelt amazing! Spent some time in the hot tub & on the roof terrace, nothing seemed to be too much trouble to make our stay perfect. Thank you for Andrew’s birthday flowers also. Thanks to everyone that made our stay so peaceful.

Just returned from fabulous 5 day trip to Essaouira, having stayed in the wonderful Dar Maya riad. This stylish boutique riad was perfect for us, we particularly loved our very spacious room, which despite overlooking Central courtyard, still felt relatively private and quiet . The rooftop is lively space to take in the rooftop vista and relax. The breakfast was plentiful and can be taken anytime it seems, which highlights the excellent focus on customer service you will have here. Yourself and the small team of staff were the epitome of hospitality and professionalism. From the immaculately clean room, rendering our specific breakfast order, to even rescuing us at the last minute , at the crack of dawn, when we realised we had to print out boarding passes.

This Riad was good! Breakfast was included and they fed us so well! Our room was at the top, and it was so cool. We had a big round bathtub, that was super unique. We loved that it was in the city walls, so we were super close walking to everything. The manager, Youssef, was awesome! He helped us arrange a taxi to get to the Riad and give us so many recommendations while we were there! The only small thing that I wish was different, was the bed was on the harder side for me. I know that's a personal preference, but other than that our stay was really great! They have a beautiful rooftop to hangout on!

Overall we found Dar Maya to be a good choice in Essaouira. It is easy to find, safe and clean. The city itself is difficult to explain. Often cities that are a port and fishing village can attract unpleasant elements. Some of this was inescapable within the Medina. Dar Maya is clean and calm, however it is could use some work. The air-conditioning in our room worked well, but outside our bedroom it was disconnected making the room impossible to enjoy. I would also encourage the staff to turn the air-conditioning on prior to guest arrival.

although I have repeatedly advised that I was celiac by email and messages and been told that alternatives will be provided . Confirmed the day before with Youssef who told me he briefed the chef . came the same morning spoke with the « chef » who just said yes yes and I ended up being served gluten !!! you need to take your guests allergies more seriously this is unacceptable . how to ruin such a great experience by small details ! no manager/ present either on that morning !

A small boutique hotel inside the medina, centrally located and can walk to anywhere. Since it’s only a few rooms, peace and quiet. Spacious room and nice decor. There was a v zen smell inside the hotel. Very good service since there are only 5 rooms. Rooftop worth spending a day to relax and chill or read some books.

Essaouira is a wonderful respite from busy Marrakesh and Fez. Dar Maya is perfect, a small boutique Riad, the staff is fantastic, friendly and professional. They gave us wonderful information on the city and where to go. The restaurants they recommended were all great choices. The beach is lovely, and Dar Maya gave us beach towels for our jaunts.

Wonderful place to stay in the medina. Staff are attentive, helpful and make you feel very welcome. Breakfast is amazing! Our room was very spacious and pretty. It’s very clean and has a beautiful roof terrace! Highly recommend. Thank you!

This Riad is just beautiful and modern - every room is decorated with the finest details and amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed every single moment here and it was super close to everything including the medina and port. Youseff the manager is a gem, he did everything and anything to make our stay so special. He organised all of our transfers beforehand and everything ran super smoothly. If you are thinking to book this Riad, just do it, you will not be disappointed!
