Wir waren 3 Tage lang zum Geburtstag im Hotel. Der Services einfach super !!! Vom Geburtstagsgeschenk bis zur Einladung zum Candellight-Haus-Sekt nach dem Dinner hat sich das Personal alle Mühe gegeben den Tag zu etwas Besonderen zu machen. Ein großes Dankeschön ! Sowohl unsere Suiten, als auch das Essen war 5 Sterne ! Das Convent ist eine Oase !!! Wir kommen gern wieder !

The Hotel Convento de São Paulo is a beautiful converted Convent in the gorgeous Alentejo region of Portugal. The hotel is spacious with two pools, the main pool being perfectly situated for sunbathing and affording plenty of sunbeds. The rooms are reasonably spacious and very comfortable. The restaurant serves delicious food at very reasonable prices. The staff are polite, friendly and professional.

Room 151. Belle. Bien meublée. 2 Terrasses privées. Proche de la piscine. L hôtel ancien couvent est juste magnifique. Chargé d histoire. Sublime. Beau. Deux églises à l intérieur. Ce lieu est magique.

Stunning location, cork oaks and pine forests and forest trails through the hills. Beautiful building, tastfully restored and gorgeous pools and sundecks. Restaurant is good and wholesome food, not overly expensive. stayed in one of the Annex near stone cross above the main drive. Near Estremoz and Redondo. This place is a gem, a perfect place for a pampering. Tennis courts, cycling, country pursuits.

This hotel matches the image created on its web site video and then some more. The setting is spectacular and the location is ideal for discovering the upper part of the Alentejo, whether for one night or ideally several nights. We stayed in a suite in the annex which sounds like a lesser location but was anything but. The space and the standards were all excellent in a rustic, country style. We had dinner in the restaurant and the service from Fernando was excellent as was the food. We had garlic prawns, garoupa, rack of lamb , a home-made sweet ( and local wine ) which were all well cooked and tasty. Check in and check out were dealt with in a very professional and friendly fashion by José , who was also extremely helpful with information on local wineries and the Alentejo generally. 🙌🙌🙌

We went to this convent for lunch. Although we didn't stay overnight we would have loved to have done so. For those who like historic places it would be hard to beat. The lunch was excellent and reasonably priced considering the superb surroundings. The staff were very helpful and friendly and when we asked about what to see the two friendly receptionists directed us, so we didn't miss anything.

Since 2017 the Convento is every year a must in our Portugal trip. this is our most favorite spot in the country. This summer we spent 10 days, and we are always feeling sad when we have to leave. This place becomes our second home. A special words of thanks for the fantastic girls from the reception: Maria, Izabel, Rita, Inez. No question is too much, they are always so helpful and kind.Also some very correct and friendly waiters is the restaurant like Fabio and Luis. And of course Carolina as the kitchen supervisor.And the most kind guys from the technical service. Only compliments for them and for the whole staff. Breakfast is always fine and fresh, and diner was mostly very good and tasteful. There could be some more choices, specially if you stay longer, but we understand the products and food delivery problems this year by the War. We love the spiritual, magical atmosphere from this place, and the fantastic surroundings of mountains and woods is for us a paradise. And the beautiful pools , A big Plus is the adults pool, because you can enjoy a peaceful swim and relax, without the noise of screaming children. Beautiful very nice decorated salon with an open fire and the old Steinway piano.We stay mostly in the Viscondessa suite, but all rooms are comfortable and decorated with a real fine sober elegant taste, thanks to Joana. A beautiful bulding, a splendid location with a calm and tranquil entourage. But: The hotel it’s not prepared for high season, food took ages, to be served, and almost everyday there was something missing on breakfast, due to sold out reasons. The worst FBM they choose to manage this hotel. If the restaurant it’s sold out for dinner, you will not have any chance to get food until 22:30, and the menu at that hour it’s resumed to 3 different types of toasts, that happen to me and my family. We arrive at 20:30 and we where starving, and they refuse to serve food until 22:30, after a bit of reclamation different food from a snack menu was offered. On one of the busiest days in the hotel, the pool bar was closed. It was bank holiday, and the hotel was full. It was a mess to get some food. The rooms are clean, and they are in old monastery rooms. Ours was a mess. We asked for two complementary beds, the most discomfortable ever seen. The room door did not work at all, at front desk they told us, they were expecting a new one. The door didn’t close unless with a key, We asked for an extra key, something normal for 4PAX in the same room, it did work, but only to open not to close from the inside. The bath room with beautiful local marble from the region, it was impossible to take a shower with get a bump in the head, resulting from the falling of the shower from its wall holder. They fixed it by reducing the water pressure, but from that moment on, it was impossible to regulate the water temperature. The cleaning team never left the enough toilet paper, almost every day we need to call for more. Finally the extra beds that I payed for my kids were with a thin mattress and a falling apart estruture with springs getting loose, and a sofa bed also falling apart, that we need to fix every day. One day we arrived lately and found the room door completely open, some one from the cleaning staff, left the door open after cleaning the room, lucky nothing was missing. At the end as compensation they offer a day of one extra bed, around 2,5% discount. The personal at the front desk were always very friendly, collaborative and sympathetic with us and all the events, that happen with us during the stay. It’s not enough being beautiful wen you’re are not efficient or even haven’t the conditions to receive your guests in conformity with the price you demand.
