フェアバンクス プリンセス リバーサイド ロッジ(Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge)

The lodge is by the river quite a way from the centre of Fairbanks. It is convenient to the airport and they offer a free airport shuttle for guests. The menus for each of the two restaurants did not offer anything we found appealing and were pricey. We walked to a place at Pike’s Landing for dinner that was OK. The lodge offered a shuttle service into downtown but we decided to use the bus service from the bus stop on the road nearby. These buses run on a loop route that intersect with other bus loops and we found the drivers pleasant and able to offer advice about the service. As a bonus, these buses are free for seniors. Regarding the lodge, it was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was fine, with a comfortable bed and good hot water.

It was a great hotel for myself, I get a free coupon for asking that I can skip housekeeping, that way I can get $5.00 off from like having breakfast and shopping in this gift shop. I can always go there sometime if I had to.

I have never stayed anywhere that was so rigid about its check in time. There were three people just sitting at the front desk and they would not check us on until 3PM. Didn’t even check to see if our room was ready, just stuck to their 3PM time frame, so we had to stand there for 20 minutes waiting until 3. The lodge itself feels like a convalescent center, all it was missing was wheelchairs in the hallways. At least it was cheap.

We were placed in a room in the lowest level. The room was musty. The hotel was booked. I am disappointed that I spent three nights and was down there when folks that came in for one night were upstairs. When I went to checkout the front desk was not responsive.

The hotel is very nice. The rooms are spacious. Once we got over the initial “this room is really nice” I started noticing that the carpet wasn’t vacuumed, the toilet had pee stains and the tub was still dirty. It looked liked they did the bare minimum to clean the room. Was very disappointed and a little grossed out. We even found the previous guests empty envelope which held the room keys. Not what I was expecting for a Princess Hotel.

The hotel caters to cruise stays on land. So it's nice. Though it shows some wear, it was comfortable. Ask for a river view, otherwise you're starting at a parking lot. Staff told us we had a river but we didn't. Make sure they are correct before using the bathroom.

Loved it! Nicely decorated, high quality, clean, beautifully presented, and most of all comfortable. Great beds and pillows. Lovely views, even on the lowest level because of the river. My only complaint would be that it’s a bit complex to find the terrace rooms- it was a lot of remembering your sense of direction, but it’s a pretty big place. That’s understandable. Will be happy to stay here again and again! Oh, and I also wish there was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. That was a disappointment, but not a deal breaker.

We stayed here as part of our cruise land tour and bought an extra day through *******. We were grateful that our rooms were ready when we arrived, though the first room was musty, hot and had a strange odor. A second room smelled like smoke, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. Our third room was lovely, cool and clean smelling. We ate at both restaurants and thought the food was above average. Our server was excellent and took great care of us. Generally, the staff in the gift shop and front desk were pleasant. We did not get a chance to roam the grounds as we were busy with activities. If I was to visit Fairbanks again, I would probably look for a different hotel.

The staff was great, helpful and friendly. Comfortable room. Had a great meal at the Edgewater Restaurant: not too fussy, but elegant and delicious.
