SureStay Hotel by Best Western Zapata

Check in was quick Hotel attendant was nice and friendly. Hotel is old had carpet on floor 😕 Restroom didn't flush good

Only $76 plus tax. Let me check in earlier than normal in the afternoon. The holiday inn express in Zapata costs much more and has a new objectionable policy of charging $30 extra for early check in, so stay here. Basic accommodations. Not much breakfast but you can use the $70 you saved to buy breakfast at McDonalds. Have had mixed experiences here on past stays but this was a 5-star stay. Great help from desk clerk.

The staff was extremely helpful and kind. Our room only had hot boiling water to use so we had to switch rooms. Our second room was upgraded but the air conditioner was leaking water inside. Soaking the entire carpet area underneath. Can’t imagine the mold growing under there. There was also a cat stuck in the vents above our door so would occasionally hear a cat meowing above us.

My stay was for holidays. The rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Great price for room. Was in town visiting family and the location provided easy access to visit them. Breakfast and coffee are available at the lounge by the front desk.

The price is about $50 less than holiday inn express and 30 minutes to the Salineno birding locations. New ownership as of 4 months ago per staff. Staff very friendly and helpful as in March. Breakfast extremely basic /non existent but better than in. March, 2023. For this very low price I think this is fine.At least they had packaged muffins. Ice machine frustratingly broken all year apparently. Room cleaner than in March. Key didn’t open door initially but staff re-imaged the key and kindly walked out to help. Maintenance issues. Light burnt out outside room 151. Fan in shower/toilet stall in 151 incredibly loud so had to shower in dark with light off and door open to avoid waking person in room 150. Difficult to drive to rooms from front desk despite closeness. Bed comfortable. Heat/cool reasonably quiet. Busy road very nearby So if on a budget stay here and put up with small inconveniences.

We really enjoyed our stay we used the pool and it was really nice rooms very clean the area has good lighting fir night time and we felt very comfortable there all together really nice experience all around really nice stay

Pros: $86 plus tax ($97) was Considerably less expensive than alternatives which is a big plus quieter room in back away from busy road Bedding clean Staff helpful Convenient to reservoir, state park and Salineno bird watching locations Cons: I killed a one inch roach in the bathroom and let hotel staff know about it No working ice machine Very poor free breakfast but expected this with a low price room Confusing driveways in back—difficult to locate the room in the not well lit back parking lot

Needs deep cleaning. We asked to be moved to a non-pet room as this one had a very dirty rug. We were moved to a smoking room which actually smelled better than the “pet room.” Breakfast was simply awful. Staff was accommodating.
