When we went to Rome on March 23 this year, we booked a Superior Double Room in Borghese Palace Art Hotel for the next night. On March 24, we arrived in Florence by morning train and checked into the hotel at about 10. We left our things in the registration area and went to see the sights. Extremely tired, we returned to the hotel around 6 in the evening in hope of a long-awaited rest. The hotel staff led us through the back door to a service room with one wall 2/3 the height of a normal wall, connected to the old service entrance. Through the glass door of which the light from the hall entered the room. The room had a double bed and another bunk bed for 2 persons. This room obviously did not look like a Superior Double Room for 197.49 Euro. We said that this was not the room the photos of which were displayed on the hotel website and we would not take it. We asked what about our room. It turned out that our room was occupied. To our surprise, a young girl told us that at the same time when we placed the online order, other people also placed an order and the other people's order went through. Then we asked why the staff team did not say anything and they registered us in the morning and there was no good answer. She called the manager and informed us that they would return the money to us. We asked if they could help us with a new place. They answered categorically that it was not their responsibility. We were really tired from walking all day and were left to find a place ourselves. It was already dark out. I went to look for a hotel in the area, and my husband, cancer patient, was looking for a hotel on the Internet.Having walked 5 additional kilometers to no avail but my husband found accommodation. We walked another 17 minutes towards the train station and entered a very pleasant reconstructed modern hotel with friendly staff - the Urban Globus Hotel. By the way, they showed us a wonderful place next to the hotel - the Market Place, on the 2nd floor of which there is a series of restaurants where there is food for every taste. The owners or managers there are young guys, they were so worried that we would leave before breakfast that they left us food at the door at night. It was certainty a time of contrast.
