Beautiful old building. Every staff member as warm, friendly and helpful as anyone could want. We love it here!

Hotel Gunter is a Gem off the highway. Staying here is like stepping back into the prideful History of Frostburg MD. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable while the atmosphere of the lobby was alive. The cellar SPEAKEASY bar had live entertainment the attached TOASTED GOAT restaurant had a wonderful menu and attentive staff. The front desk staff was eager to please providing helpful Hotel info, ice, and excellent drip coffee for early risers. Located in the beautiful mountains of MD the area is popular with bikers and outdoor enthusiasts. Hotel Gunter was the perfect cozy stop on a cold and blustery night in January.

Beautiful older building with great history and dinning onsite in the restaurant. Staff was friendly.

The hotel was unique, I appreciated the decor and the history. If you need ice you Need to get it from the front desk before they leave. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. I would have scored it higher but we did not sleep well, rock hard memory foam. The vending machine didn’t work, and didn’t return my money. Overall it was nice but I would recommend with reservations.

Everything was very nice. Comfortable bed, clean room, great restaurant, convenience to restaurants. Sights. The only complaint we had was being woken up by garbage trucks at 5:30am & they came back 3 times. It was hard to sleep in with that noise right outside your window. Also, no recycling there, lightbulbs were not energy efficient.

What a great historic hotel. The whole bottom floor is historical exhibits and artifacts. Beautiful oak woodwork. Friendly employees. Really unique place.

The convenience to down town was nice. Hotel is old, but well maintained.

I was only there for 1 night but definitely enjoyed my stay. It was close to everything. I parked at the hotel and was able to walk to everything around town. The room was clean. The hotel had a lot of charm and the staff was very warm and welcoming!

I LOVED the history of this hotel and the beautiful antiques on display and in use! It was fun exploring the building and sitting out on the porch. I really missed having a little fridge in my room. I went through SO MUCH ice. I used the console table as a desk but the lighting was pretty poor. The bed was fine but the pillows were completely flat. The pros outweighed the cons for me. I look forward to staying again in the future!
