A very lovely stay, I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday with my family

We just keep returning to the beautiful island of Madeira to stay at the magnificent Quinta Jardins do Lago. It offers very comfortable and well-appointed rooms, delicious food and drink, a beautiful pool area, superb botanical gardens and best of all, top-class service from extremely warm and well-trained staff. We can’t wait to return again next year.

We came for a week and have been totally impressed with the hotel. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The food is good. The cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding. We had a corner ground floor room 114 which looked out over Madeira however the room two floors above will likely have even better views. We were certainly impressed and we’ve had a lovely week. Staff were outstanding. We had a problem with the hire car and they sorted it out quickly and efficiently . Feel totally relaxed. Will certainly return.. thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful hotel, everything was immaculate. Gardens lovely and pool area very well maintained. Couldn’t fault the service either.

Location beautiful. Room amazing. The staff are all so friendly and helpful,so relaxing The chef is so accommodating of my food allergies made every meal a wonderful experience.

Stunning hotel set in its own vast botanic gardens. Rooms, facilities and staff are all excellent. The gardens have their own mascot, Colombo, a giant tortoise. Free bus provided to town (town a 20 min walk away). Its very posh and a proper 5 star and a little out of our comfort zone, but we had a great time. Breakfast choices were great and the pool bar was excellent. We only went to the evening bar once, but it was fine.

This was a return visit to this exceptional hotel We were so ready for November to arrive and for our long-anticipated return to Madeira. We had no great expectations of the weather, having experienced a pretty wet week on the island last autumn, added to which we were travelling a good fortnight later than last year. However, the sun God shone on us and we were privileged to enjoy breakfast in the beautiful botanical gardens of the hotel every single day. The pool area and of course communing with Colombo, the giant tortoise were our daily delights. We dined at the hotel on 3 occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful dishes served by the ever professional staff. We hired a car and parking was easy and secure at the hotel. We enjoyed fantastic Levada walks, swimming in the lava pools, spotting pilot whales on a boat trip and the rare monk seal from the cliff tops. The hotel was every bit as wonderful as we remembered from last year as was the flora on the island. I have a feeling we will be returning…especially as we saw all the Advent preparations and we know that the Christmas lights in Funchal will be just amazing! Very well done team Quinta Jardins do Lago – definitely the best hotel we have ever had the pleasure of staying in, anywhere on our travels. We highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic accommodation in Madeira, it is close to city centre and is one of the most beautiful with its picturesque gardens. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible! We were visiting for a special occasion and they made sure to help in every way possible. The breakfast was excellent with a healthy but fulfilling list of options. The receptionists were very helpful and even helped us arrange private tours of the island at competitive prices. We could not ask for more from everyone at Quinta Jardins do Lago, we will definitely be coming back in the near future. Huge thanks to the entire team for making our trip so special :)

Beautiful hotel in a picturesque setting. The botanical gardens surrounding the hotel were wonderful. The rooms were large and well appointed - service was excellent. The food was extremely good - particularly as the chef went out of the way to ensure my dietary needs (Coeliac and Allergy to Soya) were catered for. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing for a peaceful relaxed setting in Madeira.

We had the most wonderful stay in this gorgeous hotel. Everything about it is superb, but especially the staff who are all extremely warm and welcoming, making us feel very special. The Chef in particular went the extra mile providing beautiful meals, including a cake for my wife's Birthday. We loved the shuttle bus into Funchal, the scheduled trips working very well for us. Our room was large and very comfortable, and a fruit basket and bottled water were waiting for us on arrival. (The water was replaced daily and we received a new fruit basket for our second week). The views from our balcony across the garden to the sea were just beautiful, and we saw some spectacular sun rises. The pool is large and very inviting, with plenty of sun-loungers. The gardens are just lovely, being extensive and beautifully managed by the staff, full of flowers and monarch butterflies. This was the perfect relaxation holiday for us, being an oasis of peace and calm. We hope to be able to visit again soon.

We have just returned from this absolutely fabulous hotel firstly the gardens are absolutely stunning with plenty of unusual plants and are extremely well kept and peaceful The pool area and poolside bar are fabulous everything is so clean The breakfast options are endless and you have the benefit of eating inside or outside Now the restaurant the food is absolutely first class excellent choice nothing is to much trouble for the staff or chefs and presentation is absolutely fabulous the chef / chefs are some of the very best we loved it . The bedrooms are impeccable , so clean and well kept The bar service is excellent and we enjoyed the music after having our meal on the two nights they had singers Shuttle bus is very very good great idea and the gentleman that drives is so helpful and friendly, if you need anything asked at reception the will do what ever they can to make your stay as relaxed as possible Most of all the staff are all absolutely fantastic nothing is too much trouble so massive thank you to all the staff especially bar and the restaurant staff , all food areas are wonderful so clean and tidy kept to perfection We cannot praise the place enough fabulous food , staff , gardens , and hotel old type grand Quinta One hundred % we will be back

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at this fabulous hotel. The facilities were great-the staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast on the terrace was amazing. The gardens are lovely to wander around and there are ample spaces to sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful, tranquil surroundings. We would definitely return here and would highly recommend a visit.

Just had our second stay here for five nights. We live here in Madeira and rate this hotel as one of the best and our favourite on the island. A small boutique hotel set in wonderful gardens with excellent food and accommodation. The staff are attentive and responsive without being intrusive. There is an excellent pool, a small workout room and SPA and treatment options.

Yet again an excellent choice. Far from the tourist areas an peaceful. Restaurant is getting a little pricey but it is great. Superb staff, great pool and one could go on. Tour of gardens by resident botanist was a joy (even though I'm not a gardener) This was our 5th visit and we have already booked November next year.
