ホテル ゴールドリード(Hotel Goldried)

The views from this hotel are spectacular. Just up the hill from the local village. The lift up to the hotel is different as a funicular lift. The staff on reception were really lovely and helpful. We had a large room with separate bedroom, perfect if you are self catering. It also had a sauna and heating cupboard for anyone skiing. The food was of a good quality. There was a lovely indoor and outdoor swimming pool. One really good thing was that my husband left his silver chain in the bedroom when we left the hotel to go home. As we were on a coach I could not do much about it. Two days later I emailed the hotel and explained we thought the chain had fallen behind the cabinet. An hour later I got an email back with photo to say it had been found. They even sent the chain back by post. Excellent service.

Lush views, breath taking, but the hotel needs a bit of touch up, fact that won't affect your stay so I would give a 8 out of 10 to the hotel

We had a great stay here. We stayed in one of the apartments which had been newly renovated. I noticed some older reviews mention that the apartments were outdated but that seems to not be the case any longer. Our apartment was updated, clean, quiet, comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen looked brand new. There is no AC but it doesn't need it, the windows all open, it cools off nicely at night even if it's hot during the day. We ate at the restaurant for dinner two nights, they also have pizza and other options you can have in your room. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The only thing I want to mention so that people are prepared, is that the apartments are separate from the main lodge and there is an uphill walk to get to the restaurant, reception, pool, spa, etc. There is also no elevator in the apartment building and a lot of stairs to haul luggage and yourself up and down. If you have mobility issues, then the main lodge is probably where you should elect to stay instead.

We löiked Goldried a lot. Plenty to do, good quality and fresh place. Food good in restaurants! Good to be able to do ski in, but lack of course ski out. Not the biggest ski are but the hotel was really good including service given.

It is always great to come back to Goldried, this time though there was a disturbance - the spa was filled with unattended children and rude young teenagers at all times. Their screaming and splashing water totally spoilt the calm moment you expect in a spa. You have to be 17 to enter bur nobody seemed to bother. A tip if you are skiing is to get a lock for your skis - one morning one of our pairs was gone and then returned in the evening again. Probably accidentelly ”borrowed” but very annoying for us. Apart from this I can only recomend Goldried and hope that next time the spa is a spa again.

Very comfortable hotel with amazing view over Matrei. The hotel gets extra points for funicular (did not expect that!), yummy breakfasts, the pools and location. We stayed in an apartment and it was perfect for three of us. The hotel seems to have a lot to offer families with young children.

The view is nice. The renovated spa/swimming pool is modern and good. Staf is friendly. On the negative side (at least to our standards) the apartments are VERY outdated, not enough light, noisy dishwasher,...The breakfast was not okay nor from a food or a covid pov.

Das Hotel präsentiert sich im Internet besser als es ist. Die Appartements sind abgewohnt und man glaubt mit ein paar bunten Polster ist alles besser und schaut moderner aus. Weiters wird nirgends hingewiesen, dass die Appartements keinen Lift haben und man bis zu 3 Stöcke sein Gepäck selber tragen muss. Vorhandener Lift zum Speisesaal oder Wellness Bereich war defekt. Personal ist anscheinend unzufrieden man bekommt Streitereien am Gang zwischen den Reinigungspersonal mit, am Abend schimpfen die jungen Kellner auf serbisch. Wellnessbereich sehr schön, aber man muss für den Sauna Bereich extra aufzahlen wenn man ein Appartements nutzt, weil da eine altmodische Sauna vorhanden ist. 15 Euro pro Person und Tag ist nicht wenig. Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und Abend Wahlmenü ebenfalls gut. Junge Rezeptionistin war zu den Gästen im allgemeinen sehr unfreundlich. Unser Fazit: Kein 2. Mal und man darf den Bildern nicht immer trauen

Das Hotel ist teilweise frisch renoviert. Besonders beeindruckend sind die super Pools und der Wellnessbereich, die für perfekte Entspannung sorgen. Die nicht renovierten Bereiche sind irgendwann allerdings so gebaut worden, dass es teilweise eine echte Schande wäre etwas daran zu ändern! Der Natursteinboden der in 100 Jahren noch immer besser aussieht als jede neue Fliese und die Schmiedeeisernen Handläufe, Vorhangstangen und vielen weiteren Akzente zum Beispiel. Das Essen im Hotel ist hervorragend. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und bietet eine Vielzahl von Optionen, darunter frische Waffeln zum Selbermachen und eine echte Honigwabe – ein wahrer Genuss! Auch das Abendessen lässt keine Wünsche offen. Das Carpaccio war sehr geschmackvoll, ebenso der Zwiebelrostbraten und die Pizzen. Ein besonderes Highlight sind die Abende mit teilweise live gespielter Volksmusik, die eine tolle Atmosphäre schaffen. Wir hatten das Glück, in einem sehr großen Appartement zu übernachten. Es war mit einem Kamin, einer Waschmaschine, einem Trockenschrank und einer eigenen Sauna ausgestattet. Dazu kamen ein Esstisch, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, ein Schlafzimmer und ein Kinderzimmer, das für bis zu vier Kinder geeignet ist und durch eine Schiebewand in zwei Bereiche für jeweils zwei Kinder unterteilt werden kann. Der sehr große Balkon bot eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf die Berge. Nicht zu vergessen sind die Mitarbeiter des Hotels, die durchwegs sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit waren. Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch das aktuell sehr stimmige Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, das unseren Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht hat. Natürlich war nicht alles zu 100% perfekt, doch möchte ich auf den paar Kleinigkeiten nicht unnötig herumreiten! Alles in allem war unser Aufenthalt einfach traumhaft und wir können es nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen!
