Having read a lot of previous reviews our expectations were high but sadly left disappointed overall. More cons than pros, The Pros - - Rooms are a good size, we had a mix of the old style and modern rooms. Great shower in the modern room. - The location is pretty good, a short walk to the bus stop or main lifts. - The staff were great especially Annaka, Alex & Frank. They looked after us very well. - Warm boot and ski room downstairs. - Alcohol at dinner was a bonus and you can carry your drinks through to the bar (if you can get a seat, more on that below) Cons - - I would say the food was average (no we are not fussy eaters), not a huge amount of choice, poor choice of vegetable side dishes. Breakfast was quite basic. 2 days without orange juice, no proper coffee machine just filter coffee on the tables. Kitchen staff were never attentive in restocking empty food trays, we always had to ask for more bread, croissants etc. Some days we were told there was no refills such as bread. Only 2 small domestic toasters big enough for 4 slices of bread. - The ‘bar’ area is terrible, after dinner there are 3 tables to sit at that serves the whole hotel. If you don’t get a seat early there is nowhere to go as they lock the restaurant up at 21:30. The bar always closed early at 22:15. No music or atmosphere at all. The cakes/tea is also served here so be prepared to stand as again the seating is not adequate. - A voucher book was given at check in for the ski shop next door including a free overnight equipment wax… only for skis. Hard luck if you snowboard. - Sauna area is misleading, the hot tubs are just baths big enough for 1 person, they also wouldn’t fill up above a third of the way and the water wasn’t hot. Having been to many different countries and many resorts we all felt that this fell short comparing it to previous hotels especially for the price. A good hotel in its day I’m sure but needs updating.
