On arrival seemed really pleasant. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the port to the hotel. Shower is outside but could definitely do with some love. Shower was a bit grubby and rusted. Toilet seat was broken. Door that closes off the shower from the toilet looked like it had never been cleaned. TV didn’t work, not that I came to Bali to watch TV but sometimes it’s nice to check the news or have some background noise when getting ready. Bed was super comfy with clean sheets and nice comfy pillows. Overall, the room could probably do with a bit of TLC but in general (minus a few bits) is very clean and bright. Location is fab. Walk straight out of the hotel onto a bustling street full of bars, restaurants and cafes. The hotel is set far enough back for it to not be loud with music though. We cycled around the island in about 1 hour so I would recommend getting a bike from one of the guys on the Main Street. 50k IDR per bike for a day seems pretty standard across all vendors. Breakfast at the hotel was disappointing. I had French toast on the first morning and although it looks delicious, I obviously wasn’t the only one that thought so as I found and picked out 8 flies/ants that had been cooked into the mix. Safe to say I didn’t eat it. There are lots of places around though that you can grab a bite to eat. The WiFi at the hotel wasn’t working for 5 of the 6 days we were here. That being said, it was working everywhere else so I’m not entirely sure what the problem with this hotel was. Then again, not a big problem as you’re so close to so many bars/cafes that if you desperately need it you can find it. Our air con unit broke and water went all over the floor. They came to fix it straight away though and after that it worked perfectly. Also bring an sleep mask and ear plugs. The curtains don’t stop the light at all. Also, as the bathroom door is the only real thing separating you from outside noise (apart from thin glass in the bathroom/shower and the front doors - which are thin glass as well) it can get pretty noisy in the mornings when people are on their way to work or when the call to prayer starts. You’re also right next to the mosque so the CTP is quite loud. We actually extended our stay at this hotel as Gili T was fab and we wanted to make sure we had enough time here. Would be happy to stay at this hotel again if we come back even though there are a few areas that could be improved. Overall it was a decent stay for the price.
