Excellent accommodations, spectacular view, Breakfast was excellent and dinner was exquisite Staff was great

This beautiful regal hotel deserves a medal because of its tradition of correctness. I’d been travelling 3 weeks and suddenly I wanted to stay. It is a ski resort and I’m in the summer, but I recon in the winter it would be as BONZA as I found it last week.

We travel a lot - and I review many of our trips, and this was the first time at Speckbacher's for us, (not counting my first visit as a 5 year old decades ago). And for 150 Euros a night, this was one of the best overall quality experiences in a very long time. Spacious, clean, tasteful rooms (with a fantastic view). excellent customer service (especially the front desk lady), food (breakfast is awesome, especially for Austria :-) and massage/sauna were truly four stars as claimed. Austria is (unfortunately) not known (anymore) for great value in the hospitality business, but Speckbacher should serve as a benchmark for anyone in the Austrian Service business. Even tho there were three (!) parallel wedding celebrations going on when we arrived, we never felt disturbed, neglected or otherwise bothered by it. The gardens are also its own little paradise, and their wine list is long and decently priced. Can definitely recommend for romantic Spa weekends or as a base for hiking tours (to Walderalm, for instance). Also great for animal lovers.There is nothing much around it, so its best to enjoy the Hof at its fullest.

This is a very unrepresentative review for reasons that will become clear if you read on. Make of it as you will. My wife and I (along with abut 50 other people) at this hotel late one Saturday in July following the cancellation of our flight home. We were met with some 16 folk in the same position we were and a hotel manager who was unruffled, gracious, kind and efficient. he gave the impression that having 55 of so new guests descend upon him late in the evening happened all the time. He was sorting out rooms for us all and directed us to dinner (at 22:00). After that we went to our room. Which gave the impression of having been refurbished recently, as did tghe rest of the hotel. The room was spacious, clean, tidy and modern. It had an excellent bathroom and separate WC. Lots of storage and hanging space. Very comfortable bed and, joy of joys, feather pillows! Waking up next morning and opening the curtains revealed a lovely view (my brother's room opposite ha d an even better view and a balcony). Breakfast was forst-class with a huge array with freshly prepared hot food available if you wanted. Freshly squeezed orange juice made it perfect for us. Because of our circumstances we then had lunch at 11:30 and this was similarly excellent. We mooched around the grounds (quite lovely) until the coach came at 14:00, must to the irritation, I suspect, of the 'real' guests who must have wondered where all these disgruntled Brits had come from. Anyway the hotel was very, very good. We didn't try the facilities such as the wellness centre but it seemed fine. As I said this is an unrepresentative review but if the attitude of the staff is anything to go by then it is very good, excellent in fact, indeed. We (and the others) were treated with good humour, sympathy and efficiency and this smoothed many frazzled nerves. Standards were high and we'd be back in an instant if met our holiday criteria.

This is an authentic Tirolean experience, with humble origins but offering a first class spa like atmosphere. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains, and access to the hiking and biking trails couldn't be better. Rent the KTM e-bikes, they make the ride up the mountain very doable. And the breakfast is the best I've had in any European hotel, anywhere. A lot to enjoy here!

Wir sind nun schon das 2. Mal hier. Ein sehr schön gelegenes Hotel oben in den Bergen mit spektakulärer Aussicht. Die Zimmer sind hell, großzügiges Bad, Kaffeemaschine im Zimmer. Betten groß , bequem. Das Personal sehr freundlich . Und ein fantastisches Frühstück. Eine frische Auswahl, Eier werden extra zubereitet, nach Wunsch in allen Variationen. Frisch gepresster O Saft, Sekt , Tee Variationen. DAs Frühstück ist weit über dem üblichen Standort. In kleinen Bauernstuben , liebevoll eingerichtet , kann man man dann in Ruhe frühstücken. Es gibt noch einen großen überdachten Aussen Bereich, im Sommer wird er genutzt und anliegend für die Kinder gibt es ein Spiel Bereich. Das Hotel hat im Winter nicht den üblichen Ski Tourismus , da es an keinem Lift liegt. Eher Langlauf Fans , Wanderer und Urlauber wie wir, die für ein paar Tage in einem schönen Hotel die Berge genießen wollen. Sauna, Solarium, Massage kann man im Hotel dazu buchen. Wir können dieses Hotel wärmstens weiterempfehlen
