My husband and I have just returned from a 6 day stay at the Beachcombers hotel. The hotel is situated about 3 miles up the coast from St Helier - don't let this distance put you off as the bus system in Jersey is brilliant - one bus passed the hotel entrance with another just a 5 min walk. It was in a quiet location which suited us fine. From start to finish we received some of the best hotel hospitality we have experienced. Our room was beautiful and spacious (we were upgraded as it was a quiet week). Manager Vince and Martina were charming throughout and both went the extra mile to ensure we were well cared for during our stay, giving us walking tips, advice about travelling around the island and the best local places to eat evening meals. (the hotel did not provide evening meals as it was low season) Breakfasts created by the chef Henry were indeed a work of art and trust me - you will not go hungry!!! There is a local well stocked Co-op store a few minutes walk away if you need to stock up on snacks for day trips. The walk to Gorey Pier (where you will find a number of restaurants) is about a 35 min walk or a short bus ride. It is perhaps worth knowing that after dark a torch for visibility is helpful although there is a safe pedestrian pavement most of the way. All in all it was an absolute pleasure to stay here. It was like staying with family and so lovely to come "home" each night after a day of exploring. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

I have been travelling to Jersey four or five times a year for the last twenty and had been staying at hotel that has now sadly closed. Tried several hotels to use that catered for all my needs while on business and stayed at the Beachcombers last November. The welcome was warm and friendly with attentive and pleasant staff and the food really good with a well cooked and presented evening menu and fantastic buffet breakfast. The room was a good size, clean with a comfortable large bed and powerful shower. Near to Gorey and a short drive into St Helier the hotel met all that I had been looking for and I am staying there again for my first trip of the new year.

After reading some of the poor reviews before we went all I can say is that the people must have been staying in a different hotel. From our early arrival on the first day we have had nothing but first class service from all staff at the hotel. They really can’t do enough for you and are always happy and smiling. Our room was large and clean and fully equipped with hair dryer, ironing board etc. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. The full english was top class. All in all it helped to make our stay in Jersey A fantastic experience.

The Beachcombers hotel is in the quiet suburb of Grouville which is near Gorey Pier. We arrived at the hotel by bus and took the No.15 from the airport to St Helier and then the No.2 to the Beachcombers. It has to be said that on arrival the view of the hotel from the road was a little off putting as the front garden looked a bit sad and neglected, however we were quickly reassured as the rest of the hotel and grounds appeared nice and well maintained. The hotel is spotlessly clean with large comfortable beds. The breakfasts really nice And the bacon and sausages were very good quality, there is also fruit and cereals to choose from. The hotel staff are hard working and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. There is a well stocked co-op five minutes walk down the road and prices were ok. We used the bus to get around the island and the No.2 which runs between St Helier and Gorey Pier stops right outside the hotel which was very convenient. Some nice places we visited the were St Helier, Gorey Pier, St Aubin and Corbiere lighthouse, I’m sure there are many other lovely places but we ran out of time. Buses are frequent and nowhere is far away. It costs £2.25 per journey or you can get a bus pass from the main bus station. Closer to the hotel is the Royal Bay of Grouville, this is a surreal beach with rocky outcrops resembling a canyon. Take the N.o1 bus from Gorey Pier to St Helier as it runs along the coast affording good views of the bay. Check your mobile network provider covers phone usage in Jersey as I don’t think many do even if you have a data plan. I topped up with £30 credit and it lasted approx 6 hours without even using my phone. After that I relied on Wi-Fi which was only intermittent in the room. All in all we really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Beachcombers and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
