The location and amenities provided are great but the wall inside the room and carpet along the corridor are very dirty. The drainage system is poor so the bathroom will flood when showering and the water pressure is hard to control. The air con and surrounding are noisy and the temperature is fixed at 25 degrees. We even saw a cockroach and spider web inside the room argh!
The hotel looks impressive from the outside and in the common areas, but the rooms and interiors don't match that quality.
On our first day, when we checked in, the reception staff was unfriendly and didn't greet us. They only asked for our documents for verification and immediately suggested we upgrade our room. Initially, we declined the upgrade since the room looked fine based on online photos. However, after seeing the actual room, we had no choice but to upgrade.
We were two people with two large check-in suitcases, and the original room barely had enough space. It seemed designed for a single backpacker rather than for two people with luggage.
After upgrading to a larger room, the space was much better, but the layout was odd, and it didn’t feel clean. Some specific issues we encountered:
The washroom glass door left a large open gap at the top, and oddly, the ventilation fan was placed outside the washroom.
The shower was broken, making it difficult to control the water flow. Water somehow still splashed into the room, even with the door closed.
The bed was not clean, with visible stains and a lingering smell of smoke. It was clear the bedsheets hadn’t been properly washed.
Additionally, both the day and night reception staff were consistently unfriendly and didn’t greet guests at any point.
Room not very clean but still acceptable, furniture abit old. Staff keep ask to top up to upgrade room. There are better hotel option available at same price.
Was travelling on a budget for a short 2-night stay for client meeting, and picked this 3-star hotel that is a fairly short walk from the metro station's exit B. Picked the Guestroom - with View (Double bed) because I was concerned the cheaper rooms might not have windows and didn't want to feel claustrophobic. Didn't spend too much time in the hotel except to get a good night's sleep hence nothing much more to comment about. Only slight grouse is that there is a stale smoke smell throughout the hotel, but I can imagine that it would be the issue in most of the hotels in Guangzhou save for the 5-star ones.
Hotel is just across Tianhe Coach Terminal station. Location is very convenient and the exit near the hotel has an escalator. They offer water, toiletries and snacks as well.
