its ok, not too bad, seems fair. I had fun there, pool was nice, there was too much noise but that was okay. Lots of kids crying at night though, maybe their parents don't put them into berd or something. I don't know. Other than that everything was nice.

Before our arrival, the hotel called to let us know that the hotel had flooding problems. Not to worry, they made us reservations at a nearby Hampton Inn. They followed this call with 2 more calls to make sure we were being accommodated. Thanks to the HIE staff for their help in what was a trying time for them.

Booked Holiday Inn Express & Suites through the IHG app. received confirmation; attended hotel which I quickly left due to the sketchy crowd gathered in the front. I called the number on my confirmation and was greeted by Hampton Inn ??? What is more frustrating is reading a review from June of 2022 in which this exact scenario played out. However, after a lengthy back and, at one point, threatening to leave, I was fortunate that the hotel honoured the price I booked online.

This is NOT a Holiday Inn! I called the Holiday Inn (on Silvercreek) and booked a room for one night. I get to the hotel and was greeted at the front door by a person indicating that this was no longer a Holiday Inn but a HOMELESS SHELTER. (and had been for TWO YEARS) I was directed to go to the Hampton Inn and they would honor my reservation. Sure enough, the Hampton had my reservation but did not honor the Holiday Inn price. Why was I not told that the Holiday Inn no longer existed when I booked the room. (Apparently all of the Holiday In calls are forwarded to the Hampton Inn). The only reason they have 1 star is because I cannot rate a 0. Yes, it was a nice room… but for 230$ plus tax for one night in the industrial section of Guelph? Not impressed!

Since early December I have stayed two or three nights a week at the Holiday Inn on Carlton Street in downtown Toronto. I live in Guelph but regularly work in Toronto. I usually book through ********** as they have the best price. At 12:30 pm today I booked two nights. I thought I booked my regular Toronto Holiday Inn but somehow booked the Guelph Holiday Inn. Ten minutes later I spoke to Alex the sales manager at the Guelph Holiday Inn and explained my error. Ten minutes after clearly selecting the wrong Holiday Inn. Ten minutes!!! Alex told me I would be charged one night as I was cancelling the reservation ten minutes after making the error. This was not 6 or 8 hours later. This was ten minutes and I was charged $175.00. I get that this is Hotel.com's policy but I find it unethical and immoral when it was ten minutes after I did the booking I believe the tone starts at the top. If Alex thinks this is acceptable behaviour, it speaks to the values of the management at the Guelph Holiday Inn. I would steer clear of it. Any organization that penalizes people like I have been does not deserve anyone's business. ********** made it right. They tried to reason with him and were equally surprised that Alex insisted on the penalty ten minutes after booking. They have kept me as a customer but it is unlikely I will stay at another Holiday Inn. Alex not only represents the Guelph Holiday Inn, he also represents the larger IHG group. This is unacceptable behaviour. He had a choice and his behaviour cost the organization a customer.
