Wonderful location , very pleasant staff A real gem spotlessly clean, great value Very relaxing great breakfast choice .

A first class experience from the start, from late off the ferry, to be greeted warmly, given guidance on the hotel and being showed to our lovely room. Breakfast first and subsequent mornings were first class, staff worked like clockwork without it feeling impersonal, good choice of hot and cold buffet foods, lots of local produce. Evening meal first night Tuesday 21st first class, again our waitress the same lady who greeted us the previous night, was friendly, very proud of explaining about the local produce from gardens and locally sourced. Excellent service. On our last night Wednesday 22nd we asked if our tour guide could join us, this was agreed, once again from the lady on reception arranging a taxi for our guest both to and from the chateau , excellent food, wine, cider and service. All the staff we met were friendly and professional. Rooms very clean and having a bath as well as shower was great. Beautiful grounds wish we had more time to explore, however we shall return. Likewise our tour guide, who was very impressed with everything about the chateau intends to recommend as a choice for his tours. He is the owner of the company, has stayed at many places over a number of years, and we all agreed, the attention to detail was superb. Many thanks

Stayed as a family of 4 at Ch St. Giles. It was a fabulous experience - a lovely property that exudes luxury coupled with friendly staff. Didn't eat breakfast, but it looked and smelled fantastic.

The Chateau Saint Gilles is a superb hotel, based on its staff, rooms, food, and location. First, the staff, Margaux, Violaine, and Barbara, are multi-lingual customer-facing professionals, who are charming, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. The owners, Anne-Sophie & Emerick, are attentive, delightful, and hospitable. Second, the rooms are immaculate, well-provisioned, with very comfortable beds. Third, the food is first class. Cooked by consummate professionals, Frederic & cheery Francois, the variety, presentation, and taste are second to none. Lastly the location of the chateau is tremendous, as it sits centrally for the D-Day battlefields, and is surrounded by the main cultural and historical centres of Normandy. We stayed here for seven nights, and will now return next year.

We had an incredible experience at the Chateau Saint-Gilles. The chateau was built in 1730 but has been completely renovated inside with all of the modern conveniences. Emerick, Anne-Sophie, Margot, and Barbara made sure everything was smooth. The grounds are stunning and the hotel is a perfect distance to all D-Day locations. Breakfast and dinner were amazing and a great way to start and/or end the day. We will definitely go back.

We visited the chateau last year with my cousin and her husband and we had such a wonderful time we decided to visit again this time just the two of us. We were met by the warm and friendly Margux on reception, it was lovely to see her again. The chateau and staff had not changed it was still a magical place to visit and we just loved our time there. The team at the chateau are all very helpful and I have to say we did not want to leave. We hope to return, it is a very special place.

All the comforts of home and then even more. A beautiful hotel that is more like staying in someone’s beautiful home. The grounds are beautiful, employees super helpful and the accommodations so beautiful and comfortable.

What a wonderful place to stay! All the reviews are accurate. Lovely grounds and staff. Margo, Barbara and Emmerick are lovely to interact with and very accommodating. Our room was lovely, Clean, bright and comfy. The grounds are starting to pop along with the beautiful gardens. We were able to take advantage of the hot tub (a little warmer?). The pool was still closed for the season but it looked to be a wonderful spot to soak up the sun as the temps warm up. We used the Chateau as a base for our DDay tour and trip to Mont Saint Michel. 3 nights were lovely but wished we had a few more to enjoy here!! We dined one evening at the Chateau and our meal was Delicious and excellent service. Don't hesitate to book! Merci!

When we rounded the corner and saw the chateau I knew we were in a truly special place! Perfect location to visit the WW2 sites and lovely Bayeux. Absolutely beautiful accommodation and grounds! Comfortable beds and luxurious linens. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Food and service in the dining room exceptional. We had no reason to eat elsewhere. Highly recommend a stay at Chateau Saint Gilles!!
