A lovely hotel in Onati. Beautiful old renovated 13th century building with lots of character. Our bedroom was on the 4th top floor with lovely views over the town and mountains. Spotlessly clean. The air conditioning in the room could have been a little better as it got warm up there at night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast each morning. The hotel is up an extremely narrow road with a traffic light system as two cars would not pass by each other.

Lovely hotel, on a fantastic spot overlooking the hills and the town. Very friendly service. Nice breakfast in another room with a terrific view. Difficult route to get there with a long winding one-way street. But definitely worth the detour!

Wow! The hotel was a dream, the room was amazing with the most stunning views across the roof tops of the town towards the misty cloud topped mountains in the distance. The hotel manager Inigo was super lovely, really friendly, helpful and so sociable he made the stay in an already perfect setting 5* I can recommend eating at the hotel one night rather than always venturing out it was really lovely and the birthday cake with candle & the whole restaurant singing to my best friend made his night. The grounds are kept beautifully and as an eco site surrounded by fruit trees, a really lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine ( which the manager Inigo made some excellent suggestions of) and to sit back and just enjoy the breathtaking scenery. All of the hotel staff were lovely without exception ( quite rare). Recommend the drive to Donostia ( San Sebastián) lovely day out, also to Bilbao for the Guggenheim Museum but coming back to this gem nestled in the foot hills is what made it special

This was a stop-off on the way from Santander to France. We should have stayed longer. Not sure I’ve ever stumbled such an amazing area. Onati is a great town - just friendly, relaxed and interesting. Hotel is a really clever development of an old castle. A really iconic place to stay. The food was the highlight of a great stay. Basque specialities. Iberico ham, fish, pork cheeks with truffle mash potatoes. Help and advice from a multilingual manager with a good sense of history and humour. This whole trip was a real education.

Lovely stay in a historic building and beautiful setting, with panoramic views of the surrounding hills and a good location for exploring the mountains and the Sanctuary of Arantzazu. The reception staff were friendly and gave us lots of recommendations for the rest of our time in the Basque country, including lots of spots where Game of Thrones was filmed! Thank you - hope to return one day in the future.

El hotel tiene un entorno inmejorable con una decoración moderna y elegante. El restaurante también está a la altura, con un menú para diario fantástico y a buen precio. La atención por parte del personal de recepción fue muy buena y las opciones para el desayuno variadas.

Sitio tranquilo ,con encanto ,excelente atención ,es diferente a lo corriente por ser una torre almenada convertida en hotel con excelente gusto y funcionalidad, lugar ideal para el descanso en un paraje idílico. Grandes espacios ajardinados . Habitaciones espaciosas ,confortables y llenas de detalles para una estancia agradable. Excelente menú elaborado con buenos y ajustados ingredientes a una buena relación calidad precio. Cuesta encontrarlo por tener un acceso muy peculiar en una pronunciada cuesta, debido al ser una antigua fortificación. Desayuno correcto y un sitio para cafes e infusiones 24h gratuito, dispensador de bebidas en el mismo lugar bien nutrido ,estas de pago en la facturación. Aparcamiento libre en superficie. Descanso garantizado ,buenos elementos para ello.

Un hotel con mucho encanto, con buenas vistas y muy bien decorado. Asimismo, esta en un lugar muy tranquilo y privilegiado. El trato es muy cercano y amable. Lo unico que encontré a faltar fue que no habia minibar en la habitación. Desayuno muy completo en variedad.
