エコノ ロッジ ヘーガーズタウン I-81(Econo Lodge Hagerstown I-81)

Econo Lodge is linked with Quality hotel which is much better. The room assigned to make having problem on TV remote control, toilet fan not working and door cant closed properly. The manager in service is very helpful and friendly, he tried to change difference room for us, but not able to find any room with good condition. Eventually, he upgrade us to Quality hotel which is a much better room, and we appreciate his help.

DIRTY, beer cans EVERYWHERE, broken windows, condemned rooms. I literally cannot make this up. Absolutely terrible! I wouldn’t even stay at that hotel and ended up getting another one instead!

I reserved a room and when I arrived from NYC , 4 hrs driving with my wife and my 2 kids , one 5 years old special child and my 5 months old little girl, the receptionist told me that I have to call ******* and cancel because they didnt have hot water and the plumber would come monday, I went outside to talk to my wife who was still in the car and got very upset. We decided to stay without hot water because we were very tired, but the clerk refused saying that if we call ******* she got to give me the money back, when I tried to call *******, she said I could stay in the hotel but if I pay $30 extra, because the hotel had 2 buildings and the side I reserved had not hot water, but this side had, I went to check and it wasnt true, she was jus trying to rip me off and should be reported to consumer affairs, she is a crook

Lots of smoking in a non smoking hotel and at least 5 of the rooms were condemned by the local health department for some reason.

We were surrounded by condemned rooms, there were cigarette burns in our sheets. Our towels were dirty, and the fitted kept coming off because it was really small. Smelled like musty cigarettes and air freshener.

It looks like two well known hotels clashes with renovation and condemnation

This hotel is a prime example of a hotel misrepresentation on the internet/Choice Privilege website. We were moving our daughter from Massachusetts back to NC. Not familiar with Hagerstown, Md. we needed a hotel that would let me use my points for one room and we pay for the other. I don’t have a lot of points so we booked this hotel. Looked very nice online. It was in a very questionable part of Hagerstown. The hotel was half Econo Lodge half quality Inn. The night auditor was very nice, but I couldn’t figure out why he kept telling me I didn’t want to stay on the Econo side. He gave us our keys to two rooms on the Econo side. My daughter, who is in her 20’s walked up, the night auditor’s expression changed to a look of concern and asked for the keys back, said he was putting us on the Quality Inn side. My concern for our safety grew. We never left the lobby, I immediately checked us out. Lost points and money. As we were leaving we drove around to the Econo side, little to no lighting in the parking lot, very few lights on in the hotel. Mattresses leaned up against the wall outside. I really feel there was questionable activity going on there. Not a safe environment at all.

This motel was in the process of upgrading and improving. The room we stayed in had been upgraded. The staff was super nice, friendly, and helpful. The continental breakfast was average but quite acceptable. We would definitely stay again.

I’ve stayed in some shabby places, but this place is WAY worse than a broken latch or poorly patched plaster. The lampshades were broken and water stained. The sheets: one had holes in it and another had something stuck to it. The fan in the bathroom had no cover. The dresser was missing a handle and looked like a dog had chewed it. Outside my room, the hall smelled like garbage, and the fire door on the stairs won’t close, meaning that in case of fire smoke and flames are channeled to upper floors. I had to wrestle a luggage cart down 5 steps sideways because of the low ceiling. No one or even two of these problems would be a deal breaker, but all of them (especially the crappy bed linens) make it a dump. Oh yeah, I was also confronted by a panhandler while unloading my car. I’m giving one extra star because the woman who checked me in was very nice.
