A truly memorable stay! Loved everything about this hotel. If you're looking for a historic property with gorgeous gardens, thick stone walls, dark wood interiors, lovely staff, good food and drinks, and a feeling of privacy, tucked down a long driveway, and located a reasonable distance from town center, this is it. A special shout out to Anthony who was amazing and cares for the guests in a manner not often seen in most hotels these days. All of the staff were as kind and helpful as they come. We definitely hope to come back again for a longer stay!

We had a super short break here. The hotel was just what we hoped for. It was clean, tidy and warm. The food was really first class along with the service. Lots of nice touches. We booked to bring our dog with us and this was catered for perfectly. Some lovely ideas like towels at the entrance for muddy paws. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Went for afternoon tea with my sister for her birthday absolutely amazing,wonderful staff can’t do enough for you. Fabulous location and the property is beautiful. The scones were delicious and lovely and warm fresh tea leaves in china cups.

Arrived at hotel and looks quite nice , nice staff etc , I booked into an executive suite and to be fair the room was nice / very comfy bed .. had an evening meal . 8oz ribeye / beef fat chips / salad bowl .. Breakfast was very good / not greasy just the right size portion / sausage / egg / 2 bacon / black pudding / tomato .. and good selection of cereals etc Steak £33.00 ? Very shocked at the cost .. was just ok .. beef fat chips 10/10 Salad bowl again very over priced !! No onion .. All in all was nice room however food very over priced ..

8 course tasting menu last night was utterly fantastic. The food was stunningly presented and tasted amazing. The chef really knows what he is doing. Also the service from Anthony and his team is just perfect. All dishes were fully explained and the wines went perfectly with the food. We will be back soon. Thank you

This is a lovely hotel with a superb restaurant. Room is clean, tidy and welcoming, but the restaurant is gorgeous. I had fish and chips and the portion size was huge as well as being very tasty. Service is exceptional. Every member of staff is polite, helpful and just want to make your experience memorable.

Lovely room, comfortable bed with a great coffee machine. Great service at the bar and lovely cocktails. Then breakfast……. We were seated by a lovely, young man who brought tea and coffee. The coffee was terrible and not gourmet as described. It was in a silver pot. We then waited twenty minutes before we were asked if we would like toast. The toast arrived cold and soggy. Then our order was taken. Thirty minutes later still no breakfast. No one came and asked if we wanted more tea/coffee/toast. After asking how much longer we would have to wait, the older waitress didn’t even come and say: it’s on its way, five minutes nothing. After another five minutes we left with no breakfast. They did refund us but we wanted breakfast. It really let them down.

Holdsworth House is a lovely place for a meal at anytime but quite special at Christmas Great quality food and service. We were greeted by a delightful young lady called Milly at reception which set the mood for the night. Very enjoyable and highly recommended
