The building and gardens are beautiful but inside was another story. We stayed one night in the Baroque Room but the furnishings and decoration had no connection to Baroque. The room had an air conditioner but no remote control to operate it – we worked out how to do it eventually. The shower was very small with sliding doors that didn’t fully meet meaning water escaped onto the floor. In addition, it didn’t drain properly – slowly filling up as it was used. No hand towel was provided. There was only one free power outlet available in the whole room for charging phones, toothbrushes etc. Breakfast was basic comprising just orange juice and bread, butter and jam. Coffee was weak and lukewarm. On departure we provided our honest feedback to the host based upon our experience in other properties across France but it was not well received - with my wife being called a “complicated woman”. Overall, our stay was a disappointment.
