This charming motel is nestled just off the highway. It’s in remarkably good shape for an old property. The beds aren’t the greatest and my mattress seemed crooked. It’s pretty rustic in that the heat source is an industrial space heater with an electric fireplace for ambiance. If you need an inexpensive place to stay it’s great. Do bring earplugs unless you're used to being woken up by the sound of trains at 3 AM. The last sentence has zero reflection of the property, just a warning and to be clear, I would stay there again. It is super clean, could be a sweet little boutique motel with a few minor adjustments.

Warm room, soft beds, Hot showers. Good customer service, polite, nice attendant. Some bugs on the ceiling, but didnt bother us. Beats camping. Thank you so much.

It's so cheap it would be churlish to mark it down. You get what you pay for. We'd stayed in it a few years back, and came back this year. We'd stay again. Is it an awesome hotel? No. But, for what it is, it's pretty good.

Note the mixed reviews, which may have to do with exactly which room someone had and how much they appreciated the taco truck in the parking lot. My room was completely run down -- bedroom window fell out of the frame when I tried to open it, electrical outlet was loose, everything is worn, stained and dented. Dead insects all over the floor and windowsill. Check-in was slow and confused. Wifi worked and bed was OK. Didn't feel unsafe.

Small, but quaint rooms. Great checkin, and a family oriented place.

The room was clean, and it was nice to have a kitchen. Loved the quaintness of the hotel and its outside amenities. I would definitely stay here again.

Although booked through ******* they had no booking on their system but did prepare a room for us. Whole parking area and outside some rooms were a mess nothing like any photos on websites. Bedding, towels etc were clean and bed very comfortable. Great location for a stroll into the great little town of helper

Booked through ******* but on arrival they had no booking for us but did say they had one double room which they would clean and prepare. The whole carpark area was nothing like in photos on any website, it was full of mess and machinery and it looked although several rooms had long term residents as there was a lot of mess and implements outside some rooms. We were a bit sceptical about staying but we were on a road trip and wanted to visit the town of helper and after a drive of over 300 miles we didn’t want to move on. The room could do with a thorough deep clean, some repairs and decorating but the bedding etc was all clean and we did actually have one of our best sleeps on our whole trip ! It is a 10 minute stroll into town which was so worth the stay over, it’s like stepping back in time with the old buildings and signage and the locals everywhere were so friendly .

I had a uhaul trailer and the manager came out and guided me into the parking space even though it was dark.
