This was a last-minute family trip planned during the New Years weekend as Tahoe got tons of snow but driving conditions were not possible except for the few days so we came up. The price of this McKinney suite was expensive which I can understand given the holiday and last minute weekend trip plan. Husband and I got a bedroom w/ en suite bathroom to ourselves while our two boys were out in the living room on a sofa bed that was terribly uncomfortable. Overall The accommodations were good as it’s large, had 2 fireplaces and a balcony which I used to keep perishables there rather than the tiny refrigerator provided. We had decided on going to the New Year’s Eve masquerade murder mystery show and dinner advertised which was $159/PP and the dinner was off the regular menu which we had the night before. Food was decent but should have been different given the holiday. The show was the worst performance we had ever seen. First the evening started at 8pm but forever to get started but then it just went from Bad to worse—we left after the meal. There were no decorations or props in the restaurant which looks quite plain everyday and the performance didn’t have anything to do with a masquerade theme so why is it in the description?
The staff at West Shore were very nice and friendly, that is their strength, the location across from Homewood was so convenient and the Lake on the other side. We were able to go nearby to do sledding one of the days.
