Perfectly located and everything in the house is of the highest standard. The historic articles, art and books in the property are unique. Ben was a wonderful host, very knowledgeable of the history of the area and very attentive. So much to see and take in within the town or short drives away. We would definitely come again.

Menin Gate House provided the perfect base of operations for our party of 4 people (2 Couples) to use while we explored the WW1 history of Flanders. Benoit (the owner) greeted us upon arrival and gave us the tour and history of the house. He then took time out of his day to suggest locations that we could visit in our time frame and marked them all on a map, this was a fantastic help. The living room and dining area house some fantastic and interesting artifacts, which add to the charm and character of the house. The house location is perfect to reach the shops, bars, restaurants and markets that Ypres has to offer. We are now planning our 2nd adventure.

Het Menin Gate House ligt werkelijk op een steenworp afstand van de beroemde Menenpoort. Wij verbleven er met zijn zessen en dat beviel goed. Het huis heeft drie comfortabele slaapkamers, een ruime bakkamer, een fijn woonkamer met keuken. Het is daadwerkelijk een huis waar je je direct thuis voelt. Ideale locatie ook om alle plekken rondom Ieper te bezoeken. Eigenaar Benoit is erg vriendelijk en heeft zeer goede tips over de Westhoek. Het huis is bijna een museum met historische foto's en posters aan de muur. Ook een ideale plek om met vrienden te verblijven in een huiselijke sfeer, maar toch je privacy te hebben op je eigen kamer.

Wat een prachtig en groot huis. Mooi gelegen vlakbij de Menen Poort waar elke avond nog steeds de Last Post wordt gespeeld. Het huis is schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Benoit en Isabelle zijn heel vriendelijke mensen. Het was echt een heerlijk verblijf dit weekend!
