Fantastic staff from first contact at reception to the gentleman serving at the bar. The set menu in the evening was fantastic, as was the breakfast buffet. The building is very attractive. Some of the interior would benefit from an update. We will definitely return.

The hotel could benefit from position on a lake, traditional architekture, mountains behind …. but there is something missing, Too cold staff, not appropriate 5* service, instant noice ( even low level but disturbing) and tiny little things like no water in the room if you finish it first day, no apology for no running water until 8am, no smile during breakfast ….Just lady in spa showed empathy, the rest was just working

This hotel is fantastic! We stayed in the John Goodman room (I forget the exact number) and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the pond, spacious room, and separate toilet and shower rooms. The shower was very spacious, which is not always the case in EU bathrooms. Some hotel staff speak English including at the front desk (which is not the norm in this area) so we were very appreciative of that. There is parking on site, and it is walking distance to the town area. This is a great base to explore Harz National Park and surrounding areas. We loved the food at the hotel restaurant (we ate their two nights during our stay) and the breakfast buffet was incredible too - so many options! They also offer espresso coffee drinks too. Staff were friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi! There is a sauna and spa services available too. My only criticism (and this is common in EU hotels) is that our bed was not really a queen size but two beds pushed together. This means there is a small gap down the middle that is a bit uncomfortable for sleeping. Keep in mind that the Harz area is really geared towards German tourists and not foreigners. We honestly wish we had spent more time just enjoying the hotel! If I were ever to visit this area again this is the only place I would stay. I have German friends who are repeat visitors with good reason!

The lady at the reception was a bit old~fashioned asking immediately for creditcard and being quite strictly about dinner time schedule, but this are minor points. Have the Badehaus suite directly on the water,ducks and swans coming to your balcony. If you don’t like the demipension I would recommend the fresh forelle a la carte. This house deserves the three red houses in Michelin guide.

Hotel booked by our customer. Five star hotel, not! Beautiful location by the lake, unfortunately we were here in January! Rooms comfortable, however room service only every two days and water in room not replenished! Breakfast very good with good choices. Did not sample dinner as pricing double our business allowance. Nice bar area if you could entice a waiter to serve us eventually!

Die gesamte Wellnessanlage war wegen Sanierungsarbeiten geschlossen. Das wurde aber erst nach Ankunft mitgeteilt. Läppische 10 Euro wurden als Zimmerrabatt angeboten. Dabei hatten wir allein wegen Schwimmbad und Saunen gebucht. Ärgerlich!

Super Hotel. Dieses Haus lässt keine Wünsche offen, und bekommt das wann man erwartet. Super Wellnessbereich, toller Pool usw. …! Das Restaurant und das Frühstück ist spitzenklasse. Nun aber zum besten Punkt das Personal ist wahnsinn, super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es lässt keinen Wunsch offen und ist für mich der wichtigste und größte Aktiv Posten des Hotel. Absolut Empfehlenswert.

Das Restaurant ist extrem überteuert, der Service extrem schlecht. Wir haben vor dem Essen eine Flasche Rotwein bestellt. Auf die Frage welchen wir wollen, haben wir nach der Weinkarte gefragt. Etwas unwillig brachte der Kellner die Karte. Nach der Auswahl, sagte der Kellner „ich wusste es“. Auf die Frage, woher er wusste, welchen Wein wir wählen sagte er, dass er dafür extra in den Keller gehen müsse. Der Wein war eher durchschnittlich. DieFlasche für 48 €. Preis im Handel 9 €. Faktor 5 habe ich bisher noch nirgends erlebt. Das Essen war gut, aber ebenfalls überteuert. Eine gebratene Forelle für 42 € findet man nicht so leicht. Als wir gegen 23 Uhr, überlegten, ob wir noch eine Runde Schnaps trinken sollten, sagte der Kellner „Bitte nicht, er möchte auch mal nach Hause“ Für ein 5-Sterne Haus absolut blamabel.

Schönes Landhotel am Fuße des Harzes. Mitten in Ilsenburg gelegen am Forellenteich. Herrlicher Blick von Restaurant, Wellnessbereich/Schwimmbad auf den Teich. Sehr gepflegtes Hotel, sehr netter Service. Man fühlt sich rundum wohl. Kleiner Barbereich für Nachmittags und Abends. Wellness und Sauna (Blocksauna Außen), Termine für Wellness unbedingt vorbuchen. Schönes Schwimmbad (Whirlpool war außer Betrieb). Viele Ruheliegen. Wir waren ein Wochenende vor Ort (Mädelswochenende) und hatten eine gute Zeit. Parkplätze direkt am Hotel, aber auch die Anreise mit der Bahn ist problemlos möglich (Abholung durch Hotel am Bahnhof buchbar oder zu Fuß - ca 10 min). Schöne Zimmer im gemütlichen Landhausstill, geräumig und in warmen Farben gehalten. Wir hatten Ausblick auf den See. Abendessen und Frühstück sehr gut. Tolles Frühstückbüffet mit großer Auswahl. Trotz Vormerkung auf Vegetarisch und Glutenfrei war die Auswahl für meine Freundin etwas begrenzt. Wir können es nur empfehlen. Sehr erholsam.
