We enjoyed our stay at Toravaig. Our room was lovely, with perhaps the comfiest bed of our entire Scotland stay. The view out of our window was pretty, with a strip of the ocean being visible above the trees. The desk clerk Casper was friendly and welcoming. It was pleasant sitting in the lounge with a drink one evening and chatting with him. Our only issue was that no one had told us that we needed to leave our key at the desk in order to have our room cleaned, so it was disappointing after our first night to return to a room with an unmade bed and wet towels (and housekeeping gone for the day)--so be aware that you need to leave your key when you leave, and all will be well! We ate dinner one night at the sister hotel, Duisdale, and it was an exceptional meal. Try the panna cotta for dessert! Also highly recommend a visit to the Armadale castle and the museum and acres of lovely gardens with the huge variety of enormous old trees.
