This is unacceptable The Walk In Hotel (and run out) On arrival my room had no towels, no toilet paper, BROKEN AIR CON, jammed window, no kettle, the hall carpet was filthy, the room was filthy, no WIFI, no room service telephone. I made countless trips up and down to reception asking for these basic needs to be met but was greeted with looks as if I had horns. First night no response. Next morning my shower hose exploded scalding me with hot water. My breakfast consisted of cold boiled eggs and dry bread. I asked for a refund only to be told the manager was out of town and they would soften me up by giving me an egg plant borka. My 2nd night and the only needs met were the toilet tissue and a towel. Checked out to nearby hotel where I’ve no complaints of hotel amenities or staff whatsoever. Location is a bit dodgy with bars ushering me in and local working girls joining my table and after one beer and realising what was happening, on exit the local hard men trying to charge me 5200 lira for the rabbied company. This is a common problem with the bars as twice I was targeted being a male on my own. The first bar I had a huge chest out argument and stood my ground but the intimidation factor is their way of fleecing unsuspecting tourists. If you do enter bars make it clear you don’t want a lady or whatever they are and you are well aware of the scam. And definitely don’t buy them a drink or let them join your table. Being abrupt can save you a headache and a few thousand lira.
