Our stay at the charming The Parkwood in Johannesburg was nothing short of delightful. The interior decor was beautifully curated, creating a warm and inviting a**osphere throughout the lodge. The breakfast served was absolutely delicious, with a variety of options to choose from to suit every palate. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well-appointed, providing a tranquil retreat. And of course we need to mention Jean-Paul who was the most helpful and most charming host. Thanks for making us feel at home straight away.

The Loveliest little boutique hotel ever! We stayed there for one night, and I wish we could have stayed longer. But such an amazing little place. Parkwood is located right in the middle of the city and close to the airport. Sarah, our host, and owner, was excellent and kind. We came in early, so our rooms were not quite ready, but Sarah asked us to have breakfast and settle while we waited. The breakfast was custom and excellent french press coffee. The staff was friendly and kind. We loved our room, and the bed was comfortable. As I said, I wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel felt like a home, and we will be back. One of us left a jacket behind the day we left, and on our trip back to Jo'burg, the front gate guard had it ready for us to grab. Thank you Sarah for your hospitality! We so enjoyed it and look forward to coming back!

The Parkwood is a wonderful place. It is filled with lovely touches. The staff is amazing. Thank you JP and staff. Such a classy and relaxing stay. I enjoyed nature. ...took a dip in the lap pool. My room is spacious and complete with all the luxuries. A very peaceful stay. Great massage therapist- ( Sipho). Tasty breakfast. I will defiantly come back.

The couple who run the guest lodge are very welcoming and give good advices. The staff are very professional. Good breakfast with hot dishes cooked individually for each guest. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Charming furniture and decor. Lodge with lots of charm. Secure lodge with electronic gate (each guest receives a key). The only downside was the weather (around 10-15°C at the end of July, despite a beautiful blue sky), but of course the lodge had nothing to do with that... Room heating was correct.

During our circuitous trip through southern Africa we stayed here twice while in Johannesburg, well-worth the money and wouldn’t hesitate to book it again. Great property, rooms, breakfast, and the staff was top notch.

Nice place to stay in Joburg, very calm and safe area. Easy to reach any spot with uber within a few minutes. A lot of returning guests, a bit like coming home. Breakfast could possibly a bit pimped for people not focussed on cereals (would be okay to pay for it). Very fair price/quality relation anyhow.

Can I really just give it only 5 Stars? Dean and Sarah have created the most welcoming, comfortable and luxurious guest house. The outdoor spaces have comfortable couches and are a perfect way to relax. We ordered dinner one night and breakfast to order each day. The chefs make a delicious meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the nice big bathtub with jets after a day of touring. Everything was clean and nicely decorated. They have a 24/7 guard and the neighborhood is quiet. We felt completely safe. Easy walk to Rosemark area for shops and restaurants. The icing on top was how Sarah and Dean accomodated us with our late evening flight home and let us have a place to relax and hang out before we left.

An oasis in JBurg. Sarah and Dean were delightful hosts and the staff was friendly, helpful and made delicious dinner and breakfast to order. Lots of great outdoor space to relax. Very tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and a great whirlpool bath!!! Easy walk to Rosemark for shopping and eating. We felt very safe as well. They even accommodated us with a late night flight The only place for us on JBurg now.

I was lucky enough to find The Parkwood and settle in for a long term stay while my husband was at a local hospital. During a very stressful time in my life the owners, Dean & Sarah who live on-site, and their staff welcomed me like family and made me feel cared for and pampered. Playing with their adorable dog Lily was a wonderful daily distraction as was a chance to swim, get a massage or do yoga. The rooms are each unique and wonderfully & stylishly outfitted and the public spaces allow for socializing with other guests, enjoying a glass of wine or eating some of Sarah's amazing food in the dining room or in the privacy of your room. I can't say enough about how much The Parkwood and the people there brought me comfort during my time in South Africa.
