My partner and I came to stay for a spa break and really enjoyed our stay, but the hotel could benefit from a few tweaks. Pros: - Gorgeous facilities and decor. The restaurants and spa were just fantastic and the ambience was very special - felt very modern Scottish country hotel. - Pricing of the stay and food and drinks were fair and reasonable for quality. Cons: - The temperature in the hotel was very warm, and this meant the rooms were hot and despite air con we couldn’t seem to bring the temperature down enough and it meant we didn’t sleep well. - The pillows on the bed in the rooms were awful - no shape and flat.

Hotel is in stunning grounds and we had amazing weather. When we were shown to our room which was upstairs in the main house, no lift, we were greeted with a view over the outside pool. You could have been abroad as so many people in the water and sunbathing. As it was so hot and no air con we had to have the window open through the night. This was a sash window and just wouldn’t stay open unless fully open to the top! Also we were disturbed all night by a drone/mechanical noise outside. The meal in Charlie’s was excellent though the price of wine was horrendous.

Staff were excellent in all areas - front desk, restaurant, gym, and housekeeping. The grounds and hotel are stunning. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay on a holiday to Scotland.

Although we had illness strike upon out arrival, I don't know that one could ask for a more comfortable place to convalesce away from home. The rooms and beds were comfortable.I enjoyed relaxing in the chaise watching the birds out the window. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was incredible and I regret I wasn't feeling up to eating more at the time. I regretted not checking out the spa earlier in our visit, as it was quite lovely. Since we ended up somewhat stranded there (we had planned day trips, but with my husband/driver ill, we couldn't leave), we did find the food offerings for other meals very expensive and not of great value, but I suppose that is part of what one should expect from such a resort. (Think over $120 for three burgers that came with fries and salad offered in the bar.)

Stunning location and all staff friendly and welcoming. Room disappointing, very dark with poor lighting, furniture quite tired with several marks on the dressing table. Bathroom lovely but smelling strongly of damp that infiltrated the room, which was quite off-putting. Dinner nice but overpriced and 12.5% service charge on everything, including drinks made it pretty expensive. The highlight was breakfast, which was amazing and definitely the best breakfast we’ve ever had.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. It is by far one of the best spa hotels I have stayed in. The way the have made the beautiful 300/400 year old building blend into the now new modern side is done with pure class. The staff are all so lovely. You will have a 11/10 experience here.

SCHLOSS Roxburghe has been high on out list of places to visit and my husbands birthday was the perfect excuse to visit. The food and drinks were incredible and although not making a reservation for the Friday evening, we were welcomed for food in the bar that evening, which was excellent. The menu choices in the bar and Charlies were all perfect and the choice of drinks were too. We visited the spa and the facilities are excellent, perfectly clean and such a nice experience being able to use the heated outdoor pool, sauna, plunge pool and hot tub. The express back massage I had too was literally the best I've had at a hotel. The whole spa experience was very relaxing. The hotel grounds are stunning to walk around and so well maintained - we just loved the huge swing on the front lawn. Oh and the complimentary electric car charging was also a a great bonus! We can't wait to visit again.

A true luxury resort, Schloss Roxburghe offers the highest quality stay in the Scottish Borders. A spa, a wide range of activities (golf, skeet, archery, etc.), and beautiful grounds make this the sort of stay where you never need to leave the property. The food options are very good and there is an outstanding whisky bar. Our room was comfortable (the bed was wonderful), and the stay was everything we would expect at a property of this quality On the downside, the pricetag matches (exceeds? - it's pricey) the quality of the resort. The rooms are very nice, but they're average size. A low/night-light in the bathroom would be nice. Our dinner at the main restaurant was marred by numerous large groups that arrived after we were seated and marred the dining experience. It would have been nice if someone (hostess/manager) had explained the situation to prepare us, if nothing else.

After a pick you up afternoon tea, we checked into our suite. We weren’t prepared for how lovely it was. Full to the brim with antique furniture, velvet sofa, armchairs, the artwork is incredible and so much space. Walk in wardrobe area with full length mirror. Big tub and his and her sinks in the bathroom. The stone walls and lawns in the gardens are beautiful, there’s a new extension to the main house that has been done very well and the glasshouse is a special space, but they are missing a trick not growing vines or plants in there. Dinner was excellent, perfect steak and wine. We took up the opportunity to do some clay pigeon shooting, Ian was looking after us and went over all the rules and safety issues and gave us some tips on how to do well. It was so much fun, I got very competitive and had to be dragged away. This was hands down the best few days we’ve spent away from home. The surrounding areas are interesting and the house is absolutely beautiful in every way. The professional staff know exactly what to do and where to be. Without fail, we will be coming back to stay, what a special estate.
