ザ コロニー ホテル(The Colony Hotel)

Definitely a family run operation and run down with a lot of potential. Needs to be renovated and staffed properly, including accessibility throughout property. Not easy for wheel chairs or strollers, and parking lot is very strange and narrow. Beautiful views of you get the right room, be careful what you book, you could wind up in a different building with no views that’s a considerable walk away from amenities.

This property has a great view of the sea, the pool is uniquely located seaside and a good size. The historical hotel may not have all the modern amenities of a newer abode but the charm definitely makes up for it!!

Pros: Very beautiful old hotel. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Great location and beautiful grounds! Cons: There was a wedding each night we were there and it took away from the hotel experience. Very antiquated.

Room was very small, bathroom the size of a mini closet with no room for toiletries. No TV in room, outlets for chargers were under a desk or under a bed. I had to go on my knees to plug my iPad and phone. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Our visit to the Colony was a daughter/mother trip. The hotel was idyllic and was perfect for our stay. The rooms, not large in size, were clean, the bed had very nice linens and was comfortable. There wasn’t a tv in the room-but not a big deal as Kennebunkport has plenty to fill your days and evenings. The pool was beautiful, although we didn’t get the chance to use it. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for making our stay perfect!

Beautiful setting with wonderful views. Survived Hurricane Lee too. Easy walking trails along the coastline and into the quaint town area. Even had a wedding to witness ( we were not invited) as they took over most of Colony Hotel and we were not notified of this. I feel that would of been something to tell us when we checked in, so we could of made other arrangements for that day.

There is no air conditioning in the rooms. It was a miserable night’s sleep. Woke up to dogs barking super early due to having to sleep with the windows open. We heard lots of doors slam throughout the night. The views are amazing and the breakfast was excellent, but it is WAY overpriced for the lack of a/c and the size/quality of the rooms.

At this price, there should be a tv. Also, ended up with a room above the kitchen with a view of the roof below. Could not even hear the waves.

Lovely historic hotel although tired in areas. Specifically, doors & handles felt sticky & looked dirty. We knew that rooms had no TV which is good since adjacent guests talking in their rooms could be heard…imagine if TV! Also, room doors slam & locks got stuck since old style with key. Nice salty Heated pool. Daily breakfast buffet was diverse, could have homemade breads & muffins instead of store bought at that price. Great location & views!
