We stayed here as part of our Tailor Made Southern Laos tour, visiting Ban Muang - Wat Tomo, Khonephapneng Falls, and Li Phi Falls & cruise. Loved staying on Don Khone Island at Heritage House with our lovely lizard friend. Rooms are basic but do the job well for being on an island. Lovely gardens and peaceful surroundings. Great for doing excursions. we went to the Khone Phapneng falls. spectacular.

Very nice hosts but the hotel needs a thorough scrub down. Very cheeky to charge the $$$ when the hotel is really not up and running and very poorly maintained. Pool was green and disgusting. Our floating room had an amazing view but don’t look too closely at the piles of dirt, raggedy curtains, ancient shower with cracks and no soap holder. Felt like poor to average clamping. Was almost worth it for the great views, esp sundown. The place has tons of potential, but we honestly were very relieved to leave!

We rented a floating room with a terrace on the Mekong, which could have been simply sumptuous. The problem is that the owner takes no care of his establishment and is content to maximise his current monopoly position on the island. Indeed, the hotel is the only establishment currently (July 2022) open for the whole of Khone Island and Det Island (the 2 islands communicate via the French Bridge) and also has the only restaurant open on both islands. The bathroom is not clean (like the rest of the hotel), one bed smells of urine and the springs of the other one are coming out, the arrival to the room by a small bridge is simply littered with plastic bottles that the owner does not even bother to fish out. The service in the restaurant is very slow (45 minutes waiting time for each of the 3 meals we had there per day as there is no other restaurant open on the two islands), the portions served are very small and some dishes are downright bad, the best ones not exceeding the "ordinary" note. The restaurant is lit with white neon lights, the tablecloths are dirty, and the owner just shakes the dirt on the floor. For a so-called sunset inter-island tour (the pilot told us at 17.30 that the sun was hidden behind clouds, while sunset was at 18.30 and the inter-island ride was limited to a standard super slow crossing to the port from where we had left to reach the hotel on the day of our arrival) he charged us 360000 Laks, which is exorbitant. The bikes he rents have no brakes, no bell and have badly inflated tyres. I'll stop the list of my complaints here, but for every other service, we got a terrible price-quality ratio. We are all the more sorry to give this opinion as the place could be superb with a minimum of involvement from the owner, as well as respect for his customers.

Nous avons logé durant deux nuits dans un pavillon au milieu de la verdure. Le cadre était très sympathique et l'absence de voitures sur cette île nous a changé de la circulation des villes même si, là aussi, les motocyclettes sont légion.

Au milieu des 4000 îles une adresse paradisiaque , une grande chambre confortable avec une belle salle de bain , un confort suffisant sur une île aussi improbable au milieu des meanders du Mékong. Une piscine au bord du Mékong un instant magique au coucher du soleil après une journée de marche et avant de découvrir une des plus belle cascade du Laos….

Hôtel vieillissant, extérieur mal entretenu. La crise du covid n'explique pas tout !!! Quand aux 2 piscines l'eau est verte, le petit déjeuner est catastrophique avec du café de veille réchauffé. Pour le même tarif il y a beaucoup mieux dans la rue.

Excellente situation sur cette petite île, juste en face de la rivière, néanmoins cette ancienne maison coloniale mérite une rénovation indispensable à l'intérieur des chambres, salle de bain ( électricité, plomberie, rafraîchissement peinture..). Bon petit déjeuner ainsi que dîner... dommage

Cet hôtel a dû être très agréable à son ouverture...car tout était fait pour être écolo et beau, mais le temps a passé et...aucun entretien, les murs se moisissent, les clés des portes ne fonctionnent pas, pas de télécommandes pour arrêter les clims, fenêtres qui ne ferment plus, piscine verdâtre.. Le rêve quoi... Pourtant il suffisait d'un rien... petit déjeuner moyen.

We verbleven in 1 van de floating bungalows. Het is heerlijk om op het balkon te zitten aan de Mekong. De kamer kan net zoals het zwembad wel een opfrisbeurt gebruiken. Het ontbijt was vrij slecht. Aangezien er weinig open was op het eiland, waren er weinig alternatieven. De fietsen die je kunt huren zou ik ergens anders huren. Wellicht verbetert het allemaal als er meer toeristen komen, maar voor nu is het matig te noemen.
